Feb Scrap the Girls

I have been wanting to play along with the scrap the girls challenges for a couple of months now, but as usual, life has just been getting in the way.  But last night I had some time to scrap the Feb challenge, which is a sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch.....

and here is my take on the sketch.....

Pic is a group of work friends on our trip to Sydney late last year (I'm not in the pic, as I was the one behind the camera for the weekend....nothing new there!  lol)   We had just finished our Limo tour around Sydney & dropped off at the Opera House for dinner & to go see the ballet when they spotted this Fire & Rescue truck....They all though it was great fun posing in front of it - even the firies got out of the truck & were taking photos of them.  hahhaha.  It was a top weekend!

This is the same weekend as the LO above.....just a different night.  Before going on our Showboat cruise, we stopped off at a bar in Darling Harbour for a cocktail....or two.  The one I had was called "The Italian Job".  My gosh it was super yummy!

And this last LO was for a challenge over at Red Earth Scrapping - to have journaling straight on your photo.

Coincidently....another pic from the weekend in Sydney with the girls from work.  Pic taken of Luna Park as we sailed past on the Showboat cruise.

I love the colours in this....& the photo.  We had such a great time dressing up as pirates on our cruise last year.....as you can see!  LOL

Feb White with 1

This months challenge at WW1 is White, Brown & something vintage.

Here is what I came up with....love this colour combo & criteria :)

I have used a few vintagey items....the Maya Road envelope at the left of the photo....a crochet doiley cut from an old crochet runner....& the Kaiser vintage birdcage.  And I guess the Lovely Bug Bits n Bobs buttons would fit into the vintage catergory as well. (these were part of my recent prize from Sue - I loved them so much, I just had to order some more!)

Feb Kraft it Up....

This months challenge over at KIU is a colour challenge....and, of course, using kraft.

I just loved this combo as soon as I seen it & couldn't wait to give it a go :)

A day off work & some scrapping....

Finally a day off work, and after a quick catchup with things aroung the house I was itching to get some scrapping done....so I started with the Feb 1st sketch over at Stuck?! sketches.

Here is the sketch......

And here is my layout.....

I wanted to play with some paint for this layout...and in the past, my paint efforts always tended to look too "neat", even though that wasn't what I was aiming for.  Not sure that I've achieved the look I was wanting with the paint....but I think I accomplished the messy look rather than neat....LOL

LO is about DS, Joel & how his boss wants to teach him to fly!

How lucky is he?  And what an awesome experience....not so awesome for Mum though...just something else to worry about!

Some Red Earth Scrapping.....

I received my Feb kit from Red Earth Scrapping during the week.....and lucky me has been able to create 3 LO's with it so far - YAY.  I'm hoping to get some cards made with the leftovers as soon as I can.

Here is the gorgeous kit that Helen sent me.....

And this is what I have created with it......

this is a close up of the lollipop flowers with the gorgeous bronze charm as the flower centre, plus the cute little bird cage stamp - All included in the kit!

I love the vintagy feel to this LO, which goes so well with the Titanic photo :)

This is my 3rd LO - very different from the first 2 - a more bright & fun LO.

Everything I have used here is included in the kit - except for the Thickers & a few buttons that I've used...oh and the Dymo tape on the 3rd LO.

I hear that there is only 1 of these kits left!
