I have 2 things to blog about with regards to the November kit at
C'est Magnifique Kits....
Firstly, I was one of the lucky WINNERS for the recent C'est Magnifique blog hop....winning myself one of the AMAZING November kits!!! The kit is full of such beautiful papers & embellies...the papers being none other than 7 Dots Studio's "Domestic Goddess" and OMG these papers are simply stunning! And I have to say, they are the best papers I have ever worked with for distressing! The heaviness of the papers make distressing a breeze....none of that accidently slipping because the paper is too thin & you end up with a big rip right where you didn't want it {I distress with my scissors & this can happen quite frequently - yep, I have a distressing tool, but much prefer the blade of the scissors}...and the colours & patterns are to die for!! Seeing the papers online is nothing compared to what they are like IRL & I'm so glad that I bought the extra paper add-on plus the embellie add on to go with the kit!
So I'd like to send out a HUGE thank you to Leslie @ C'est Magnifique kits for not only putting on a great blog hop, but for also generously giving 4 kits as prizes, one of which is now mine :)))
And secondly....of course I had to use the November kit for the November C'est Magnifique sketch, and here is what I came up with....
"Along the Garden Path"
I wasn't sure how it would look adding in some small hints of green, with the pinks & yellows of the kit, to help blend in with the colours of my photos...but I'm pretty happy with how it's all come together & think it looks a-ok.
Here is this months sketch
Now for a few close ups...
I've added a few pieces of
2crafty chipboard on my layout, that weren't part of the kit.....the first piece being the gorgeous
2crafty Wrought Iron scrolls that I have gesso'd then painted with Honey Dew glimmermist with a touch of distress ink added once everything was dry.
Here in my smaller cluster I've used one of
2crafty's
Tiny Henri's Frame, which I gesso'd then painted in Viva Pink glimmermist, dabbed with the Copper Acrylic Paint Dabber that came with the kit, then added a few splatters of Coffee Shop glimmermist .....plus there's another scrap piece of Chicken Wire in there as well.
Title.....I love those Pink Paislee Wood Shop alphas that were in the kit!
And my main cluster of Manor House flowers & a Kaisercraft bloom added from my stash......& my journaling
Photos are from a trip to Mayfield Gardens at Oberon a few weeks ago. If anyone has ever thought of going to them, I can highly recommend going - it is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! and well worth the trip.
That's all I have for now....thanks so much for dropping by!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend...what's left of it! xx
