"Cake Smash"

I just LOVE this background paper...it is so classic & so very cool!
As you can see, a mix of papers from the collection layerd up under the photo of my cute lil Great Niece <3

I won't repeat myself on the products & techniques used, if you want to see all those details, please pop on over to the AAS blog HERE

Here is the Stuck sketch I've based my layout on

I've used a portrait photo though instead of landscape

And here's a few close ups...

Creative Team Article on OTP Christmas decorations for Scrapbooking Memories Vol. 17 No. 6

Hello there again :)
I am wayyyy behind on blogging about my last Creative Team article for Scrapbooking Memories.
I have been planning to do this post for a very long time...but time has got the better of me & it just hasn't happened...until now!
The article is from before Christmas...and hence the reason I decided to do something a bit different...and something Christmas related.
I decided to do my article as a step x step for 2 Christmas projects, that could be used to decorate your home for the festive season....and they are both fairly simple, so don't be put off thinking they look too hard...and besides, I promise they will be a lot of fun for those who'd like to give it a try.

First up is a Paper leaf wreath.

To cut a long story short....you basically punch/die-cut or hand cut a heap of leaves from a variety of Christmas patterned papers.  Then staple them to a donut shaped piece of cardboard that can be cut from any old cardboard you have on hand....making sure to overlap the leaves to give the wreath a bit of fullness & make sure that none of your staples are visible.

Once you've completed all the way around the circle, finish it off with a nicely tied bow....and then add another donut shaped piece of cardboard to the back, to cover up all the staples....and add a loop of ribbon or such, that can be used to hang the wreath.

And that is just about it....you will now have yourself a lovely handmade Christmas wreath :)))

Here's a few close ups....

It's a good idea to also shape the leaves a bit, so that they don't sit flat on the wreath.

Mix the colours & patterns up so that you don't have a clump of all the one
colour/pattern in the one spot!

I tied a nice double bow in a gold ribbon ...and finished it off with a vintage style button
that I had in my stash :)

Next is a Christmas canvas....

First prep your canvas & add any textured/stencil work if you wish.

Again, choose a variety of Christmas patterned papers.
Cut them so that each piece is approximately 1cm shorter or longer than the other (depending if you're starting with the top or bottom section of the tree....and each one around 6cm in length - this is the length that will get rolled up.  You'll also need a few shorter pieces that will form the trunk & little presents under the tree.

Using a round pencil, roll each piece up on the pencil.....along the 6cm side.
Arrange them on the canvas so that they form the shape of a triangle....which will be the branches of the tree.  Once happy with the positioning, glue each piece down with a really strong glue.

Finish off by embellising with buttons, twine....or anything else you
might have that would be suitable.

Here's a few close ups....

I made the little presents different sizes & tied some twine into a bow around some of them to help them look more like little gifts.

Buttons are great for adding as little decorations to the tree

I added a star to the top
And used some little alpha stickers to add the "Merry Christmas"

My photographing of these projects is fairly plain & ordinary, so I thought I'd also add some photos I took of the photos in the magazine....and you'll see just how well the projects
were styled up to be photographed.

I think they look awesome!! :))))  I was so happy when I seen them in the magazine....very professional indeed!

I absolutely LOVE how this one was done <3

And the canvas looked pretty fantastic too!

Well there you have it....my last article....finally!!! (and soon Easter will be here!) lol

I hope you found the projects interesting & inspiring....thanks for taking the time to check them out.

Until next time....xx

Kaisercraft DT - Wanderlust

Hi All....
I'm back with the last of my Kaisercraft DT work for Feb...using the amazing
Wanderlust collection,
a great collection for all those travel photos!!

"To conquer Mt Kozzie"

I wanted to fit a few photos on the page for this one...Hubby & I hiking up to Mt Kosciuszko on the Australia Day long weekend.  The colours in this collection went perfectly with the colours in the photos.

Again....not a flower in sight! What the heck is going on?!?! lol
I've also used some of the A is for Adventure, Captured Moments cards as the layering in under my photos - I find these are great for this, and if you're not a PL scrapper, I couldn't think of a better use!

The alpha stickers are all Kaisercraft - Ivory, Red & Ebony

Lots of Collectables & sticker pieces layered & tucked here and there

How cool are those Geotags?!  There are some in both the Collectables pack & on the sticker sheet...so plenty to go around.

More Collectables pieces

I've also added some stamping to the background, using some of the arrows, chevron arrows & words from the Wanderlust stamp set.

Another great use for the CM cards....for journaling!
I created a pocket on the left side of the page, and my journaling card just slips in there with the little tag poking out so that it's easily pulled out to read.

Other – Twine, Archival Ink

Next is a couple of cards....

"Travel ......"

I've used one of the cards from the Kaisercraft Kraft cards & env. pack...topped with another CM card, some layers of paper from the paper pad, Collectables pieces & more stickers from the sticker sheet.  I've embossed a few of the paper pieces with another of the new Embossing folders - this one is called "Weave"....very cool!

Foam Tape T303, Black Ink IP719
Other – Cotton Thread

next card

"Bon Voyage"

A variety of papers, Collectables & Stickers....layered up on top of another Kaisercraft Kraft card.
I used the 'bon voyage' stamp from the Wanderlust stamp set, then cut it out & mounted on another piece of patterned paper, and then also cut it out, and mounted it on some foam tape.

Kaisercraft Products: Wanderlust Collection – Unknown P1764, Paper Pad PP962, Collectables CT820, Sticker Sheet SS273, Wanderlust Clear Stamps CS206, A is for Adventure – Captured Moments Cards 6×4 CM325, Kaisercraft Card & Env – Kraft CD512,

Kaisercraft DT - Shine Bright

Hi everyone....back with my creations using Kaisercraft's 2nd release for Feb
Shine Bright!

And, doesn't it what!?!
Beautiful yellows, mixed with greys, black & white....such a f.a.n.t.a.s.t.i.c colour combo!
I'm predicting this one is going to be a big hit :D

Ok, I'll get right to it...

"Amazing Love"

Can you believe it?!  Not a flower in sight!!! lol
I am quite proud of the fact that I've managed to scrap without any flowers....and I love the page too, which is a great bonus!  I've used the Sunshine paper (which those really cool chevrons) for the background, with some layers of Let it Shine Captured Moments cards & lots of collectables, stickers & stamped images as well.

Lots of collectables layered up & over each other....with some up on foam tape to add a bit of dimension to the page.

I have used the Shine Bright stamp set to stamp a few chevron arrows.
I couldn't decide where on my page I wanted to stamp them, so I started off stamping a few sets on to acetate, then moved them around the page until I was happy with a position - this is a geat idea when you just don't know where to position a stamped image, and don't want to just go stamping willy nilly, then deciding you are not happy with the result.  So stamp onto acetate sheeting, then cut out & you can then manouevre them around the page until your hear is content.  So then I decided I'd just leave the stamped acetate as it was, rather than then stamping straight onto the paper.

I've used 2 Collectables pieces for my title....the word "love" being in running writing as a diecut.....and there are a heap more words in the pack like this as well.

Some more layered up Collectables pieces...and a few stickers from the Sticker Sheet as well.  Again, some of the pieces are up on foam tape.

Kaisercraft Products: Shine Bright Collection – Sunflower P1754, Bumblebee P1748, Sunbeam P1747, Let It Shine Captured Moments 6×4 cards CM324, Collectables CT819, Sticker Sheet SS272, Shine Bright Clear Stamps CS205, Black Ink IP719
Other - Twine, Acetate

Next up is a BTP item

#Me

This is one of Kaisercraft's # BTP items....there are other # words available as well.
I painted the sides & back in Gesso first, then covered it with the Golden paper & embellished with a variety of bits from this range, with a few added blooms & other embellishments.

I've used another of the words from the Collectables pack.  I altered the colour, as it was originally black.  To alter the colour, I coated it in Gesso & then coloured with one of my grey Gelatos.

I made up a little cluster of flowers, leaves & one of the stamped images from the Shine Bright clear stamp set.

Here is more of the stamped chevrons...again on acetate.
Some punched butterflies, topped with a pearl & droplet.
Also some chevron stickers that are mounted up on foam tape.

Another smalle cluster at the opposite end ...more blooms, punched leaves, stamped image, pearls & finished off with some twine under

Kaisercraft Products: Shine Bright Collection – Golden P1755, Bumblebee P1748, Collectables CT819, Sticker Sheet SS272, Shine Bright Clear Stamps CS205, BTP #ME SB2334, Pearl Pearls SB713, Coconut paper blooms F627, Sunset paper blooms F634, Black mini paper blooms F661, Coconut mini paper blooms F644, Yellow Droplet SB1511, Black Ink IP719
Other - Twine, Leaf Punch, Flowr, Button, Cardstock, Acetate, Gesso, Gelatos

Lastly is a card.....

"Hello Friend"

For the paper on the base, I've used one of the Captured Moments cards with one of the newly released Embossing Folders! - This one is "Honeycomb"....and it is gorgeous!!

I have used a few of the circled pieces from the Collectables pack & also cut out more circles from the Sunbeam paper, and then layered them to form a little cluster of circles & smiley faces :)

With one of the verses from the Sticker Sheet that I cut into shorter lengths & popped up on some foam tape

I finished off with one of the clear acetate butterfly stickers plus some twine wrapped around one side of the CM card, before sticking it all down onto the Kaisercraft card base.

Kaisercraft Products: Shine Bright Collection – Sunbeam P1747, Paper Pad PP961, Collectables CT819, Sticker Sheet SS272, Let It Shine Captured Moments Cards 6×4 CM324, Honeycomb Embossing Folder EF203, Butterflies Clear Stickers ST915, Kaisercraft Black Card & Env CD510, Black Ink IP719, Foam Tape T303
Other – Twine
