Websters Pages - Palm Beach....

Oh how I wish I was somewhere that even sounded anything like "Palm Beach" at the moment....as I'm sure it would be a whole lot warmer than what it is here - which is f.r.e.e.z.i.n.g!  So many frosty icy mornings lately. Oh how I dislike winter :-/

Anyways...that's not what this blog post is about...lol
This month I received the super gorgeous Palm Beach range from Websters Pages as my DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne.....which is available in store HERE.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received this range...and straight away knew that I'd get a variety of different styled/themed layouts from it...so it's going to be one of those versatile ones!  And  the laces, tickets & accents to match in this range are gorgeous.

Ok, on with the layout....and it's not for a sketch challenge (shock horror!!  lol)  nor any challenge at all (double shock horror!!!).  It's actually going to be featured on the Handmade by Suzanne blog a bit later in the month with step x step instructions....so you'll have to keep your eye out for it, and I will be putting up a link etc here on my blog once it goes up so that you can all get to see it and hopefully give it a go :)

Okie doke....the layout

Lots of punched border edges, misting, distressing & a few clusters with lots of Prima flowers & some resin pieces from the Websters Perfect Accents pack.

Photo was taken at the Isle of Pines while on our cruise back in 2010.  The island is totally unspoilt & is full of places that look like this....just breathtaking...and makes you want to not have to come home! LOL

A close up of my main cluster...which includes a blue checkered Lil' Red Rocket button....that I covered in gesso to lighten the blue so that it toned in better with the rest of my cluster....I love the washed look that it gives!

Another close up of the 2nd cluster

And another at the top of the layout

Title....and a little bit of journaling on strips of CS with foam tape under them to give them a bit of pop.

Well, that's it from me for now folks...I shall be back once I get my next layout completed....have a great weekend everyone!  xx

Guest Designer at Scrap Africa

Good evening lovelies!  Just quickly popping in to share my most recent layout.

Back in May I had entered a layout for Sketch # 5 at Scrap Africa, where I was one of the winners & invited to be guest designer for sketch # 7, along with the amazingly talented Erin Blegen
I loved the sketch as soon as I seen it...and I'm sure you will too!

I just love the leafy print at the opposite sides of the sketch....and thought my Crafters Workshop cherry blossom template would be perfect for this......

I've used some really old Basic Grey paper from the Sublime collection for my background, with some soft misting using CW chickenwire template, some light random stamping & then inked with the cherry blossom template....and I just love the effect this gives!

I also have a gorgeous Lil' Red Rocket kooky owl button tucked there in my cluster....I thought the colours went so well & I love using these cute little buttons!! <3

Photo is from our Broken Hill trip last year of this dry old creek bed at Stephen's Creek...such a beautiful spot!

If you'd like to see what Erin & the Scrap Africa DT have also created, then pop on over to the Scrap Africa blog & see their gorgeous creations.....you never know, you might just be inspired to play along with the sketch too! :)

Thanks for dropping by....the weekend is fast approaching here, so I hope everyone has a good one!  xx

My last Sketchabilities reveal....

Being the 30th of the month, means that there's a new sketch at Sketchabilities..... sketch #74....and yep, as my title says, this will be my last layout as part of the Sketchabilities DT :(.  It will also be the last sketch challenge for a few months at Sketchabilities, as Karan is taking a well earned break over the summer months in Canada.  She will be having a DT call in August, so keep an eye out for that because it truly is an awesome DT to be a part of!

I have been on the DT for 2 terms (6 months), which is the maximum a DT member can serve.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working with this fabulous team & with such an awesome sketch designer.....I've enjoyed & loved every single sketch that Karan has created for us & I'm now the lucky owner of 12 fab layouts that I love.  So, before I get on with sharing the sketch & my layout, I'd like to sincerely thank Karan for having me on the DT and for all her fabulous sketches :)  xx

And now for my layout....

But first, I want to give acknowledgement & credit to the techniques & mediums I've used in my layout, to an online class that I did at Miss Arts Papercrafting School, by Julie Winks - who was lovely enough to allow me to use these techniques & mediums for my Sketchabilites DT layout....so a big THANKS goes out to Julie xoxo

Okayyyy...on with my layout :)

I just LOVE the colours in this ....which are very similar to Julie's layout from her class.  Julie not only taught how to apply these different techniques & how to use the different mediums...but she also showed how to look at your PP in a different way which will then give you different ideas & ways of scrapping with it.

My photo is from Tasmania...on the far west coast - in a place known as "The edge of the world" - as there is literally nothing between here & southern part of South America.

I've used BG paper on kraft cardstock & the newspaper advert paper is from Echo Park - Times & Seasons.  I've used a few different coloured hessians...including one that I misted to get the right colour to match in with the others......with a few Kaisercraft paper & resin flowers & a  g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s  Lil' Red Rocket chiffon flower <3,  some punched butterflies, Maya Road chipboard keys, a cut up doily from an op shop & a few buttons...along with some mists & stamping on my background.

I have journaled around the inside of my stitched border, and it reads....

"Gardiner Point - Arthur River - West Coast - Tasmania....The sea west of Tasmania is the longest uninterupted expanse of ocean on the globe, there is nothing but ocean and currents between here and Argentina"

And that folks, is why it's known as "The edge of the world"

Ok, now that the geography lesson is over...LOL!
Why not head on over to the Sketchabilities blog & see the amazing creations from the rest of the DT.

I'm sure this won't be the last you'll see me over on the Sketchabilites blog, because I'm hoping to still play along with Karan's fabulous sketches as often as I can, but as a participant rather than a DT member :)

Thanks for dropping by & for all your lovely comments...I really do appreciate them!  xxx
