Week 3 - November FMS photo a day

Hi everyone...just another quick post tonight to catch up on week 3 of the November Fat Mum Slim photo a day challenge (gosh that is a mouthful!!!  lol)

Anyways...here are my next lot of pics :)

 15.  In your bag - Inside my camera bag (I love this bag!  It looks just like a handbag rather than a camera bag & can also fit purse, phone, keys etc in there as well)

 16.  The view from your window - Taken thru the car windscreen while driving across the bridge near where I live

17.  The last thing you bought - Bryce Courtenay's newest, yet last.book.ever!
Sadly, he passed away last night :(  - RIP Bryce.
The world has lost such a brilliant story teller...I have loved all of his books.

18.  Happened this weekend - A bit of scrapping (which is the subject of my last blogpost)

19.  Something awesome - Awesome row of Moreton Bay Figs on Norfolk Island.
(I used an old fav pic for this one that I took while holidaying on Norfolk a few years ago - forgot my camera that day, plus was at work...and I can definitely say that not much in the way of awesome happens there! lol)

20.  Work/Play - Kids playing in the park that I snapped while on the way home from work.

21.  What I wore - boring old work clothes!!  lol

Hope you have enjoyed seeing into my week that was :)
Take care  xx

C'est Magnifique November kit

I have 2 things to blog about with regards to the November kit at C'est Magnifique Kits....

Firstly, I was one of the lucky WINNERS for the recent C'est Magnifique blog hop....winning myself one of the AMAZING November kits!!!  The kit is full of such beautiful papers & embellies...the papers being none other than 7 Dots Studio's "Domestic Goddess" and OMG these papers are simply stunning!  And I have to say, they are the best papers I have ever worked with for distressing!  The heaviness of the papers make distressing a breeze....none of that accidently slipping because the paper is too thin & you end up with a big rip right where you didn't want it {I distress with my scissors & this can happen quite frequently - yep, I have a distressing tool, but much prefer the blade of the scissors}...and the colours & patterns are to die for!!  Seeing the papers online is nothing compared to what they are like IRL & I'm so glad that I bought the extra paper add-on plus the embellie add on to go with the kit!

So I'd like to send out a HUGE thank you to Leslie @ C'est Magnifique kits for not only putting on a great blog hop, but for also generously giving 4 kits as prizes, one of which is now mine :)))

And secondly....of course I had to use the November kit for the November C'est Magnifique sketch, and here is what I came up with....

"Along the Garden Path"

I wasn't sure how it would look adding in some small hints of green, with the pinks & yellows of the kit, to help blend in with the colours of my photos...but I'm pretty happy with how it's all come together & think it looks a-ok.

Here is this months sketch

Now for a few close ups...

I've added a few pieces of 2crafty chipboard on my layout, that weren't part of the kit.....the first piece being the gorgeous 2crafty Wrought Iron scrolls that I have gesso'd then painted with Honey Dew glimmermist with a touch of distress ink added once everything was dry.

And a few scraps {of scraps} of 2crafty Chicken Wire Panel....with the same treatment as above.

Here in my smaller cluster I've used one of 2crafty's Tiny Henri's Frame, which I gesso'd then painted in Viva Pink glimmermist, dabbed with the Copper Acrylic Paint Dabber that came with the kit, then added a few splatters of Coffee Shop glimmermist .....plus there's another scrap piece of Chicken Wire in there as well.

Title.....I love those Pink Paislee Wood Shop alphas that were in the kit!

And my main cluster of Manor House flowers & a Kaisercraft bloom added from my stash......& my journaling

Photos are from a trip to Mayfield Gardens at Oberon a few weeks ago. If anyone has ever thought of going to them, I can highly recommend going - it is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! and well worth the trip.

That's all I have for now....thanks so much for dropping by!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend...what's left of it!  xx

Week 2 - FMS Nov photo a day

Hi everyone...thanks so much for popping by today!

Just a quick post to share the next 7 days worth of photos for the FMS photo a day challenge....

8.  Something you do every day - Play & spend time with my Oscar :)
(isn't he just a bit too cute!!!)

9.  Small - A lady bug (that has stripes rather than spots) that I found in the garden (after crawling/climbing....under/through/over umpteen bushes...and I'd swear the neighbours thought I was a crazy woman...lol).

 10.  Can't {won't} live without - Besides the obvious, family - my camera & lenses

11.  Night - {Almost} - a bit of trickiness to this one *wink, wink*

11.  Night - A 2nd pic I can't help but share for this prompt - taken a couple of years ago from the Opera House in Sydney, looking back to Circular Quay - one of my most favourite photos I've ever taken :)

12.  Drink - Straight from the tap, thank you!  That walk has me puffed...lol
(I love how the camera has captured the water coming out of the tap & then splashing off Oscar's tongue)

13.  Where you slept - {after it was made} - I just couldn't bring myself to take a pic of it not made...lol

14.  Man made - Windmill

Until next time...happy snapping/scrapping & yahooooo, the weekend is almost here!
Take care... xxx

Scrap Friends - Sketch #7

Hello there everyone....hope you've all enjoyed your weekend.

I have a layout to share today, for sketch #7 at Scrap Friends...wait til you see the sketch, you will love it!

First is my layout....

A nice quick & simple layout without much fuss.  I have turned the sketch 90 deg anti-clockwise & added a little banner to the top.  I've used up more of the BG Clippings kit that I've had for quite some time {I think I've just about exhausted it all now though!}.

and here is the fab sketch....

And now for a few close ups

A fairly simple little cluster

This is one of the BG Clippings banners that comes with the string/twine already attached & sewn through the banner pieces...makes them soooo easy to use.

And a bit of a closeup of the layers.

Just a quick post tonight....thanks so much for dropping by :)
Enjoy your week!  xx
