Paper Stories February sketch...

Hi there lovelies...hope everyone is well & enjoying the start of another new week :)

Just popping in quickly tonight to share my layout for Paper Stories Feb sketch....using a kit I bought from Paper Stories many months ago (I seem to have quite a few in my stash that I'm still slowly trying to use up!)....the kit contains 7Gypsies Postale papers (I can't remember the name of the kit)...plus I've added things from my stash & also used some 2crafty chipboard.

here is my take on the sketch....

And here is the sketch....

I've had a play with that mesh tape again...this time cutting it into thinner strips & colouring it with glimmermist.  I've also used more Green Tara flowers that I won from the gorgeous Eila Sandberg...the big white one & the smaller caramel coloured one....thanks again Eila!!!

And another of Eila's flowers <3  plus some 2crafty chippie pieces....a scrap negative leftover piece from the clock face frames...a little ATC flourish  and a tiny Henri's frame tucked there into my cluster
(please ignore my pencilled journaling that I've just noticed I haven't rubbed out...lol!)

And some more 2crafty....this time one of the Compass' from the compass set...and one of the little Gears.

and here at the top is another little ATC flourish

The photos are from when we went to Blackheath in October & it snowed!!
This chuch looked so beautiful with the grounds all covered in snow.

Hopefully you can get a better idea of the mesh in the background in this shot.

ok, that's all folks....thanks so much for visiting my lil ol blog :)
Have a good one...xx

Final week of photos...

for the January FMS photo a day.....

22. Corner - An old farm gate at this little dog leg corner of a paddock on my morning walk

23. Electric - My sons {old} electric guitar

24. Stripes - A pattern of stripes left after harvesting a crop of barley :)

25. Landscape - There's lots of these grain silos scattered across the rural Australian landscape - this one is not far from where I live {bugger those power lines being in the way...stuff like that really annoys me!! LOL}

Being Australia Day...this is what I came up with for todays prompt - it's a bit outside the square...& also expresses my thoughts on the recent & past debates about Australia changing its flag

26. Together - The Union Jack, Southern Cross & Commonwealth star...together on our flag, as they should be - this flag is part of our history & we are all so proud of it...so why change it? To me, changing it means we are a nation who doesn't know what it wants & knows not where it's going!
We do not need a new flag....not even for sporting events!

27. Sun - Sunrise, whilst cruising back into Sydney Harbour
{Today was cloudy, so I used an older photo}

28. Through - Playing through the fence with the neighbours dog....who just so happens to be a boxer too! :)

29. Grow - From lime buds into limes {hopefully}

30. Down - Down by the sea
Using an older photo taken in Tasmania last year, as had been unwell & not able to get out & about with my camera

31. Yourself - Me & my camera

So that's another month of photos done & dusted.
Feb has now started....would you like to give it a go too & join in on the fun??

First layout...

Over at Scrap Friends they are having a lot of fun sharing their very first layouts created...so I thought I'd join in on the fun too :)

To be honest, I really do not remember which layout was the very first one I created...I have no clue!
But I know that this one I'm about to share was one created in the first few months of me starting to scrap....which would have been approximately 2002

Isn't it a lot different to how I scrap now?? lol
Or can you see me & my style in there just a little bit?

The torn piece at the very top is Vellum
 something I don't ever use anymore...I don't even have any in my stash.

The 3 little rose things at the bottom are something I used to buy a lot of....and still have some stashed away somewhere.  They are Rebecca Sower - Fresh Cuts...I used to love them!
Brads & buttons were usually a feature on my pages too....and journaling - I've always loved to journal & tell the story.

This story is about my Grandparents & it reads {in case you can't see it}.....

"This photo of my maternal Bentley granparents was taken in 1945 as they were walking down George Street in Sydney.  The story behind the photo is that Nan is pregnant with their last child, Aunty Kaye, and that she was annoyed with Grandfather because he wouldn't put out his cigarette, and had taken his tie off!  Hence the body language in Nan and the distance between them as they walked!"

If you'd like to join in on sharing your first layout....head on over to the Scrap Friends blog!

Cheers...xx
