Layout update.....

Just updating with my latest layouts from the past week or 2 that I haven't already shared......

This one is for the June Monthly challenge "A symbolic life" set by Em over at Scrapboutique.
We had to use at least 3 different symbols & to incorporate a shape (such as circle, diamond, hexagon, shield) on to our base cardstock.  I thought the October Afternoon "Road maps" papers were perfect for the symbols!

And this one was for Amanda's June Stash stomper challenge at the Boutique.
To use up old chipboard alphas as either a background, border etc.
I used up some old Heidi Swapp CB alphas - using up some of those letters that you're always left with in the pack!

This one is for the June sketch challenge at Scrapbooking from Scratch.

And this last one is for the June 123 challenge (which is back up & running this month after a 6 month break)
The challenge was to use the word "New", dominant colour of white & to use a paint spreading technique (I spread mine with a piece of corrugated cardboard - didn't quite get the effect I had hoped for, but oh well)

And that's all I have for now - not alot of scrapping got done this week.
Hope everyone's having a great weekend - thanks for dropping by :)

CC layouts

Just thought I would share some layouts from the cybercrop last weekend at Scrapboutique.

This first one is for the challenge that I set (as guest stylist).
The theme was "welcome home", so my challenge was to create a layout about your home.
Either your present home, 1st home, childhood home, holiday home, or any previous home at all.
The only extra criteria was to have "Home" in the title,
have more than 40 words of journaling
Use at least 5 buttons & some ribbon/lace/trim.

And here is my sample page.....

The next one was for Manon's sketch challenge.
To be based on an indoor or outdoor activity.

And this last one was for Em's Sunday roast (blind scrap)
This is my first attempt at a 8.5x11.
Love how this one came out....not sure if it's gonna get me hooked on the 8.5x11's though...lol

Thanks for dropping by....I should be back in another few days to update on more layouts :)

Queens Birthday....

Well, it's a holiday for the Queen's birthday, today....but it's not really her birthday - that was in April....not that I'm complaining - anything for a day off work!  LOL

Anyways....in celebration of our Queens Birthday long weekend......Happy Birthday Lizzie :)

I have a few more LO's to share using more of the Max & Whiskers kit that Chels at Scrapboutique sent me.  I really loved scrapping with this range....and love how all my LO's have turned out - plus I'm amazed at how many I got from the kit - 10!!!  Gotta love using up everything from a kit :)

So, here are the last 3 of my LO's.....

So, as you can see....this range isn't just for pet layouts - it is sooooo versatile & great for such a variety of LO's - I hope I've inspired you to want to scrap with this gorgeous range from Basic Grey :)

And now for a few other layouts that I've created recently....

For the May sketch challenge over at WIOIN sketch blog

And this one is my May entry for the Year in Review competition at WIOIN
(the meshy looking stuff was a piece of plasticy mesh that was around the gas bottle of the BBQ - funny how us scrappers are always on the lookout for things to add to our LO's...I am loving using non-scrappy stuff atm)

Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend :)
Thanks for dropping by  & happy scrapping!

Max & Whiskers....

I have some exciting news to share!

Chelsea from over at Scrapboutique asked me if I would like to be the Boutique's guest stylist for June!!!
Of course, I said yes! - while doing a little happy dance....LOL

So, Chels sent me a pack of Basic Grey - Max & Whiskers goodies to have a play with.
I really love these papers - the colours are just amazing!  And just because it's called Max & Whiskers, doesn't mean you can only use it for pet/animal layouts - it is soooo versatile!

If you want to check out the full range of Max & Whiskers at the Boutique - you can check it out HERE

Here are 2 layout's that I've completed so far.....

Of course, my first LO had to be about my gorgeous Oscar boy - who really does have such a placid, gentle soul - he is just the most loveable dog, ever  <3

And just to show how versatile this range of papers is.....a totally different, non pet related, layout  :)

I have quite a few ideas going on in my head for more layouts using this range....AND I still have plenty of product left, so over the next few weeks, I'll be sharing some more LO's from the gorgeous Max & Whiskers range !

Thanks for dropping by....and happy scrapping!

Kraft it Up....

June challenge for Kraft It Up has just gone up on the KIU blog!

It is an AWESOME challenge this month... it really took me out of my normal scrappy zone... & funnily enough, I really loved doing it & LOVE my finished LO - has to be one of my new favourites!!!

So, this months challenge is....

This month we challenge you to create a layout using Kraft (obviously) however this must be a MINIMALIST layout, think white space or simple no fuss pages...

We have six fantastic sponsors who have offered prizes this month so please visit our side bar and use the links to check out their sites and what they have on offer!

Entries are due no later than 8pm 30th June.

Hop on over to the KIU blog & check out all the AWESOME work from the creative team - they are so inspirational!

So, without further ado....here is my sample LO....

No paper used at all for this....just felt, fabric, twine, wire, lace, buttons, Kaiser wood scroll & a bit of glimmermist.  Pic is from a weekend drive a few weeks ago to a little village not far from Goulburn, called Gundaroo....Sally Paskin's store from the 1800's - a young woman by the name of Sally Paskin's opened up a little general store in this little house....old stuff like that really interests me.

I hope you'll give this months challenge a go....the minimalist bit might seem a bit scary at first, but it really isn't once you get started on it....trulyyyyy!  You never know....You might just end up enjoying it, like I did :)
