My Minds Eye

I came across a little sketch challenge over on the MME blog the other day...and seeings that I LOVE MME, I added it to my list of challenges to do.  I am really loving scrapping with MME atm - especially their Lost & Found Two range!  The extra criteria for the challenge is to use brown....lol  I don't think I could find a better criteria....what was it I was saying about brown?!?  And of course to use MME products, at least 80%.

I feel like I'm on a bit of a roll atm, so when the mojo is mojo'ing....I've learnt to just go with it ...sooooo that's what I did & I've had a lovely scrappy afternoon  :))

Anyways.....here is the sketch

MME_LayoutSketch_2011_11

And here is my creation.......I have mirrored the sketch & used a landscape photo rather than portrait....

All papers are My Minds Eye - from the Lost & Found Two & Stella & Rose ranges.  There's also a MME diecut from the Lost & Found Two range....and some REALLY old MME Lush alpha's.  The rest is a few handmade embellishments including a Lovelybug Bits n Bobs button, A Lil Somethin dress pattern flower & a hessian flower made my myself.  There's also a small Prima flower, Kaiser wooden leaves, some twine & the little fence is using a MFT Die-namics Woodgrain fence die using some scraps of Kraft that I have inked in brown .

Pic is another from our recent holiday at Mt Beauty in Victoria.

Sketchabilities - sketch # 59

How good does this sketch look???

I totally love it & couldn't wait to get scrapping with it....

I decided to scrap with some pics from our outback trip back in May....

The great Aussie shear - a shearing demonstration at the "Shear Outback" Shearers Hall of Fame at Hay NSW.  I've used some 7 Gypsies & BG papers, Tim Holtz film strip ribbon, corrugated cardboard, BG diecuts, Manor House flower, Kaiser bloom, Prima flowers, ChipChop shop CB owl, shipping tag sprayed with GM, crochet doily from op shop, a few buttons & some AC thickers, Sassafras & Jenni Bowlin alpha stickers...oh & a few CB pieces from one of the $2 shops (not sure of the brand).

I love how this has turned out - love that it has so many pics on there!.....and what a surprise, yet again, I'm using brown - but with blue this time...lol.

(speaking of holiday pics....I must get around to uploading pics from our recent trip to NE Vic)

TFL!  Yay, it's the weekend....Hope everyone has a good one! :)  xxx

Another SUYS challenge...

For 1st November....a sketch challenge, created by the very talented Sara Noendeng.
Here is the sketch....

And this is what I've created.....

I am loving scrapping with greens & browns atm...and this one has a tiny splash of yellow.  I've used LOTS of handmade goodies - A Lil Somethin dress pattern flower, butterfly, bottletop & ticket... A Lil Red Rocket button...a handmade fabric chipboard button made by myself, plus a stamped shipping tag from a very old "What is old is new" kit.  I've used all MME papers on this one, from the Lost & found two & Stella & Rose ranges.  Pic is from our recent trip down to NE Victoria.

If you're after some more inspiration for this challenge, head on over to Show us your stuff & check out what the DT have created - it is all gorgeous!

Thanks for dropping by & for any comments - they are much appreciated :-)

Some more Christmas cards

I'm certainly on my way to being organised with my Christmas cards this year....but at this stage, that's about all I'm organised with ...lol.

I have been creating a few more cards using the gorgeous Websters Botanical Christmas from Handmade by Suzanne.

I don't feel that I am very creative when it comes to cards....but I'm sure these will be better than bought cards...and hopefully received with more appeciation :-)

Embossed cardstock with some Websters Dazzle me gems, push pin & Fabric strip.

Just a simple handcut strip of PP, a piece of cotton lace & a very old Kaisercraft wooden word with a tiny pice of Websters dazzle me gems

The 2 directly above are simply using the "Postcards to Santa" pp....all I've done is added the sentiment & a bit of bling.  So, so quick & easyyyy for a handmade card :-)

Some rustic misting on kraft cs....machine stitching, stamped sentiment & a tied bow using a strip of the Websters Designer fabric strips (these strips have gone such a longggg way!)

Well, that's about all for now...thanks for dropping by & TFL!  xx

1st November Stuck?! sketch...

Just had to give this awesome sketch a go!

And here is my take on it

Using MME Lost & Found two - Rosy "Best of Friends" as my base with a few scraps of various papers in there as well...with some GM using CW chicken wire template (but it's really hard to see :-/), some Pink Paislee Artisan tape, ribbon, muslin, Dusty Attic goodies, Prima & Kaiser flowers, a really OLD Bo Bunny chipboard frame, Heidi Swapp & Jillibean Soup stickers, Shabby Chic circle die cut, BG alpha stickers & AC thickers.

Pics are from our recent trip back in October to Bright....where there was this telegraph pole that had a bit of a lean on it, and someone has come up with the great idea to paint it so that it looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa!!!  LOL.  It really did look like the real thing...except it was a telegraph pole...hahaha.

Thanks for looking!  xx

It's fast approaching.....

Christmas that is :-/

I have been scrapping again, using the very christmasy Websters Pages "A botanical christmas" goodies from my DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne....and I think it has finally got me motivated with starting to get organised for christmas!!!  Well...a few things at least...lol.  I still haven't bought a single gift...but at least I have a few ideas now ...and we have finally figured out the who/what/where for the big day :)

So anyways....here is what I have been creating

This one is a little different to my normal scrappy style - the darker colours & the busy PP - but I quite like the end result.  Using A Botanical Christmas - "A birds view" & "Oh christmas tree" papers on a dark green Bazzill CS, Some Little Storytellers alpha stickers.....with a flower made using my Sizzix Flower layers #7 die & some handcut stamped leaves that are sitting in a cute little bookpage envelope from Rainbow Splendour...with a heap of machine stitching to create some borders.

Next are a couple of cards that I've made using some leftovers from the kit....

They are both fairly simple....just using strips of PP, Dazzle me gems & fabric strips from the Botanical Christmas range with another flower using a die & a piece of burlap trim tied in a bow....so easy :)

Well, that's all for now....but hopefully I'll be back some time soon with some more cards using up the rest of my leftovers.

Thanks for dropping by!  xxx

Some more Botanical Christmas.....

from Websters Pages, using my DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne.

At first I was a littled daunted by the Websters Pages (not sure exactly why).....but I've been pleasantly surprised at how well & easy everything has come together for me :)

Here is my next layout using this gorgeous range....

Products used:  Bazzill cardstock, Websters Pages - Botanical Christmas - A birds viewBeautiful Holiday, Postcards to SantaLittle storytellers alpha stickers,  Designer fabric stripsDazzle me gemsPrincess PetalsPush pins  and from some of the packaging I have used my new Decorative Doily die to cut the little doilies .  I've also added some Prima flowers, handcut leaves from Scenic Route paper, Zva flourish & GM from my stash.

Pic is my cheeky DH being just a wee bit silly a few christmas' ago.

While I am here, I thought I'd give myself a little toot....you can read about it HERE
Just a little bit chuffed & so so excited :)))  Can't wait to receive those gorgeous flowers!!!

November White with 1

This months challenge at WW1 is to use white + brights (choose just 1 colour for your bright) + flowers....love it!  I chose orange <3  ....and here is what I came up with

Not much PP used on this one....just one scrap piece of fairly old Pink Paislee...the rest is just ribbons, trim & Pink Paislee tape....with some misting using Oriental Poppy GM & CW template, stamping with my new fav stamp - Kaisercraft Postmarks & embellished with Prima & Kaisercraft flowers, a crochet doily, MME & OA stickers, Lovelybug bits n bobs button, AC thickers & Prima alphas, Flourish with a bling pearl flourish & Bella brad.

Pic was taken at sunrise sailing through the Havannah passage on our way to Noumea last year.  Love how this one has turned out.

This month....

I am playing with Websters Pages "A Botanical Christmas" in my DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne!
I was like a little kid at christmas this morning opening up my goodies...and I just couldn't wait to have a play, and I just knew the first page I scrapped HAD to be using this gorgeous die cut paper!

So this is what I have created....

Websters Pages - Botanicals Christmas products used :  Botanicals Christmas die cut & Postcards to santa PP;  Designer fabric stripsDazzle me gems;  Princess petals;   Push pins;   Little storytellers alpha stickers ....and some Prima flowers & leaves, Jillibean Soup sticker & a few buttons from my stash.

I didn't have much of a choice for christmas pics, as I still don't have my computer back (which has all my pics stored - including some recent ones taken of DD wearing reindeer antlers...lol)....so I've had to go with this fairly old one of yours truly :-/

NovemberSketch

And here is my take on it.....

Using some old, and new bits & pieces from my stash.  Pic was taken on our trip back in May while we were in Mildura ...it is the old homestead of William Chaffey & his family & was built in 1889.  It really was a gorgeous old home & in such amazing condition.

Thanks for visiting & TFL.  xx
