Creative Scrappers + more MME mixed with some Lil' Red Rocket....

I have always been a HUGE fan of My Minds Eye products.....but I'm loving them even more lately!
Their latest ranges are just WOW...and I'm also loving the hexagons that they've introduced into some of their papers.....and I'm also loving handcutting my own hexagon shapes.

So, I'm here to share another layout I created last night using Creative Scrappers sketch # 205 using some MME & Lil Red Rocket goodness...... with some added hexagons - which just happens to be this months challenge on the My Minds Eye blog - to use hexagons!!  Yay

Here is the sketch....

And here is my layout....

I've opted to use one larger photo, rather than the 3 smaller squares.

I've hand cut a heap of hexagons from Follow your heart & Miss Caroline ranges & my base paper is from the Miss Caroline "Fiddlesticks" range also.

I've also used some gorgeous Lil' Red Rocket embellishments in my cluster....a gorgeous big owl button (isn't he just the cutest!!!) and the beautiful teal chiffon flower <3

I've also used my new MFT leaf flourish die that Suzanne ordered in for me (available in the Handmade by Suzanne store HERE, but you'll need to be quick!).....If you love flourishes, you JUST HAVE TO GET this die!!! It is fantastic & so versatile I just know that it's going to get a lot of use from me...I love it already! I've cut a few pieces with it & then cut some of them into smaller pieces to give a more balanced feel to my little cluster . There is also a felt rolled rose flower cut using another MFT die, Rolled Rose and also a small Rosette from the Tim Holtz Rosette die. (as you can see, I'm loving all my dies atm too...lol)

Okie Doke...that's all from me, folks, I'm off to tackle a few jobs for the day :)
Thanks so much for dropping by & for all your lovely comments...I really do enjoy reading them & they really do make my day! :) xxx

MME + just because....

Happy Monday everyone :)
Today I want to share with you all a layout I created over the weekend....a just because LO.
Well, it's really not only a just because layout...to me, it's way more than that!

You see, a lovely fellow scrapper was kind & generous enough to allow me to scraplift a layout of hers.  It's a layout, that when I first seen it, I fell in love with, it's utterly divinely (is that such a word?) gorgeous!!!....as is all of her work!  I love her work to bits & find her a never ending source of inspiration....to me, her layouts are always well balanced in design, colour & technique.

Ok, so you wanna know who this fantastic scrapper is???

It is the one and only Georgia Heald :)

And this is her stunning layout that I have lifted.....

You can see Georgia's layout on her blog  HERE
Don't you agree that it is utterly gorgeous?!  It's the colours, design & those hexagons that got me oooohing & ahhhhhhing over this one :)  I just love it! <3

And here is my take on it....
(nowhere near as yummy & delicious as Georgia's original - but I love it anways!)

I've used papers from the MME "Follow your Heart" & "Miss Caroline" collections...along with some Prima, Kaisercraft & Dusty Attic flowers, Kaisercraft wooden flourish & pearls, Prima lace, twine, AC Thickers, BG alpha stickers, The Girls Paperie journal card (popping out from under photo), Martha Stewart - EK success & Creative Memories butterfly punches, buttons, Prima tile, & versacolor & Stazon ink.

Pic was taken at Port Latta in Tasmania....you could see this metal  construction out in the ocean, for miles.  I loved the look of it & just had to stop to get some photos.

A few close ups....

Well, that's all from me for now....but first I'd like to thank Georgia immensely for allowing me to scraplift her gorgeous layout.....  I just hope I have done it justice :)

Thanks for dropping by. xx

Hi everyone,
I'm back for a quick post to share my latest layout using my April DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne, featuring Pink Paislee "Indigo Bleu" - which has been a fabulous range to work with, it is so so versatile!

My layout is for the April Once upon a sketch challenge....which is the following sketch with the theme "Home".

So here is the sketch, created by fellow HBS DT member, and founder of OUAS, Nadia Cannizzo....

And here is what I've created using the Indigo Bleu collection

Here are a few closeups showing these gorgeous products...

Pics are of a beautiful old House near Bathurst, called Abercrombie House.  It is still lived in today by a local family who are slowly restoring bits that need restoring, and they run tours through the house, which includes the history of the house & it's previous owners & lots of interesting stories.  It must have been an amazing grande old home back in it's day....I found it totally amazing!

Anyways...that's it from me for this Friday morning...I'd best get on with my long list of things to do! lol

Have a great weekend everyone.  xx

Daring you to scrap....

This months challenge at Daring you to scrap is a sketch challenge...& do I love sketch challenges! :)
I've used more of my fabulous April DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne - Pink Paislee "Indigo Bleu" ....this range is truly gorgeous that it is sometimes hard to choose which side of the paper to use (wishing I had 2 sheets of each!  lol) .  It is available in store HERE

So, here is the sketch.....

And here is my take on it....

Using papers Tweed as my base, and small pieces of Jacquard & Poplin for the different shaped banners hanging from the twine....I've also used 2 of the shipping tags & a few buttons from the Boutique trinkets pack, October Afternoon alpha stickers (from last months kit).....with some added twine, metal clips, TA Glimmermist & Cosmo Cricket stickers from my stash.

Scrap the girls sketch + Pink Paislee "Indigo Bleu"

Hi everyone,
I am back to share another layout using the fabulous Pink Paislee "Indigo Bleu" range that I received as my DT kit this month from Handmade by Suzanne :)

I was really inspired by fellow HBS DT member, Marelize's DT sample layout for the April Scrap the Girls challenge....& thought that my DT kit would be perfect for this months sketch challenge, and the idea of the layout I had in mind.

So here is the sketch....

And here is what I have created....

Indigo Bleu products used - Paper Calico, Border Stickers, Shipping Tag, Boutique Trinkets
Other products - Prima Flowers, Prima Shabby Chic Metal Treasures - Bird Cages, Prima Art Tiles, Kaisercraft Grid stamp, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, American Crafts Thickers, Pink Paislee Artisan tape, Kaisercraft Rhinestones, D'Lish Scraps ribbon flower & ticket, October Afternoon & Carolees Creations alpha stickers, Buttons, Twine, Scraps of a cut up cotton doiley.

Layout is about Kate's first day of catching the school bus.

And now for a few close ups...

I wanted to include lots of journaling for this layout, to tell the story of DD's first time of catching the school bus & how she got off at the wrong bus stop!  I didn't want to leave anything out, so there ended up being too much journaling to fit on a journal spot, or even as hidden journaling under the photos....so I decided to go with journaling straight onto the layout & am pretty happy with the result :)
(Ps.  The journaling isn't really sloping, as it appears.....it's the white flowers that are running at a slight angle making the journaling appear to be sloping down)

Well that's all from me for now....hopefully I'll be back in the next few days or so to share my next layout using this gorgeous Pink Paislee range! TFL  xx
