The colour room

I'm a bit late in posting this one :-/ as the newest palette has already gone up at TCR - not sure if I'll get time to do this one though, too much work on atm :(

This is the previous palette, # 76.....

Palette Release #76 {Her Room}
I really like the colours in this one
And here is what I created.....

I used some really OLD BG as my base & some old Kaisercraft & Fancy Pants mixed in there as well (I seem to be doing a lot of using up old stash lately!)  There's also a Lovelybug Bits n Bobs button, A Lil Somethin flower & a Krafty Koncoctions bottletop.

A very rare pic of us all together.....taken on Fathers day this year :-)

Thanks for dropping by & TFL.  xxx

September W.W.1

This months White with One challenge was to use White (of course), pale pink....and journaling on your photo.  From this month, the rules have changed and you can now use the other colour (pale pink for this month) as your background colour.  Plus small amounts of black can be used.

I have used a pale pink + white MME paper from the new Lost & Found (two) Blush range, for my background...a Heidi Swapp playing card, Prima flower, Green Tara flower, A Lil Somethin flower & pin, Rainbow Splendour tiny windmill (too cute!), 2 Lovelybug Bits n Bobs buttons, Charms Creations lovely lollipop, Handcut stamped leaves, MS punched butterfly, ribbon, trim & tape....and some stamping  & waaalllaaaa, my finished LO.

Love how this turned out & loved this months challenge at WW1 <3 ....pic is from our stylish stretch limo ride in Sydney last year :)

Another SUYS LO - 15th Sept

Challenge is to use multi photos (check), stripes (check)....and handmade embellies (check).

This is what I came up with.....

Where are the stripes, you ask?......can you spot them?....they're in the music notes!  I pulled out about 30 or so different papers with, what you'd describe as traditional stripes...but it just wasn't working!  It was this paper or nothing...lol.  So they're my stripes....hope they pass!  My handmade embellies are a Charm's Creations lollipop, a Lovelybug Bits n Bobs button...and one of my own  hessian lollipops :).

TFL!  xxx

Show us your stuff - 1st September....

is a sketch challenge, by Sara.....and of course, to use handmade embellishments.

The sketch....

And my take on it ......

A fairly quick, simple LO using lots of old papers that have been in the stash for (quite) a while.....& for my handmade embellies, I have used a Lovelybug Bits n Bobs button (as I do! lol) and the chipboard bubble border,  by Leann Pearce at the Chip Chop shop :-).

I've been on a bit of a scrapping roll the past few days, so will be back over the weekend with a couple of more shares :-).  Have a good one!  xxx

KIU

September's Kraft it Up challenge is a beauty!  Fabric & stitching....on Kraft!  Gotta love that :-)

I've used some of my fav pics from our Broken Hill trip, back in May.....Sunset while we were at the Living Desert Sculptures - absolutely beautiful & breathtaking :).  I've used some corrugated cardboard as my base....I bought us some nice new woollen blankets last week & was about to throw out the cardboard packaging that was inside, but the ol brain was obviously ticking over & then I had this brainstorm that I could use it for my KIU layout...I thought it would go perfectly for these pics.  I've also used hessian as my fabric....in the flowers & a hessian strip....plus the orange fabric strip & lots of machine stitching.  The gorgeous leaf stem is from Prima <3.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog...and TFL :)

1st September Stuck sketch....

Firstly I'd like to thank & welcome my new blog followers.....I'm sorry that I can't see who you all are, because blogger seems to have a major problem with showing the followers thingo on the sidebar - anyone know if there's a way to fix this problem?

ok, now on with the sketch.
I really like this sketch, being a multi photo sketch....so wanted to make sure I gave it a go :)

And here is my take on it .....

Pics from out on the NSW / SA border on our Broken Hill trip back in May - One day we'll do the extra 287 miles and make our way down to Adelaide (it's on THE list....lol)

Thanks for dropping by my lil ol blog...and TFL.   xxx

HBS September sketch....

This months sketch at Handmade by Suzanne is again created by Michelle Fowler....and it is a great fun sketch!

Sept2011Sketch

And here is my take on it....

I have used the gorgeous new MME Lost & Found (two) Sunshine range of papers - love them!  I've never really cottoned on to the banner faze that's been happening around the scrappy world of late....but I did have fun creating the banners for this one & quite like the end result :-).  And yep, that's another Lovelybug Bits n Bobs button that I've used - in case you don't know, I love these things!

And here is a close up of the flower I created using my new Sizzix die, using felt, kraft, some PP & string  :)))))

TFL & thanks in advance for any comments you may leave.   xxx

2007

The 1st September sketch challenge over at Once upon a sketch....is to use a year as your title, & to journal about why that year is so significant....plus use the sketch, of course.

Here is the sketch....

And here is my take on it.....

I chose 2007....the year that DD completed her HSC & graduated from Yr 12.
Lots of yummy (old) Prima paper, flowers & bling on this one....including some packaging :-)
There's also a Lovelybug Bits n Bobs button, some Kaisercraf blooms, an old doiley that I've had in my stash for a few years now....and lots of machine stitching.

Thanks for dropping by & TFL .   xxx

CCG#208

Color Combos Galore #208 is now live .....and lucky me is featured as the facebook fan winner :)
Here is this weeks inspiration board.....

And here is what I came up with......

(apologies for the poor pic of my layout - it was taken early morning on an overcast day, so not the best lighting!)
I kinda struggled with the "sugared lilac" .....not alot of any lilac in my stash!  which means I obviously don't scrap in any lilac/mauve/purple colours.  But at least I had a little bit of ribbon & an old Kaisercraft crochet flower :-).   But I did enjoy working with the inspiration board & the designers challenge of pearls....thanks Janet!

Thanks for dropping by & for your lovely comments :-)

September Scrap the Girls....

This months STG challenge is a great one....to use clips, clips, clips!
Most of us LOVE using clips on our pages, including me, so this one is right up my alley :)

I ended up using a total of 4 clips.....

I really love the colour combo in this...the teal, pink...and a splash of black.  Turned out way better than I thought it would :)......  I've used a couple of Sue's Lovelybug Bits n Bobs buttons on this one <3

I thought I'd share a close up of the title....using Provocraft alphabet dies (Olivia) that I have had for a year or more &  never used them!!!  What the?!  I also used some REALLY old textured paper that I won in a prize pack many YEARS ago (probably 5 or more?!) at my local show, that I thought I'd probably never use - but have never tossed out or RAK'd or anything.  I can't believe how good they look...I'm really loving the texture in them, and now understand why I never got rid of it...LOL.  I think I'll be using more of it....and I think I'll be using the alpha dies more often too....plus I think I need to get some different ones as well :)

Anyways....that's it from me - for now.

Happy Fathers day to all the dads out there....not that there'd be any dad's here reading my blog (I don't think?...lol).   I'm heading out to see my dad shortly and spend the day with him having a BBQ & some relaxing.

Thanks for dropping by & TFL.....xxx

Get Picky

I finally packed all my scrapping gear away ...from last weekends retreat, so that inspired me to scrap something :)

I decided to do this months Get Pick inspiration challenge #11

I was inspired by the yellows, greens, white & orange in the picture board

So, this is what I came up with....

A fairly simple layout, using some new Authentique (I think I'm gonna love this brand!) and Echo Park papers & another Charms Creations lollipop.  Pics of the beautiful sunrise as we sailed into Sydney harbour at the end of our cruise last year.

TFL & thanks for dropping by :)

Some more retreat scrapping....

1st day of spring today....YAY, can't wait for some warmer weather!

I am back to share some of my layouts I did at last weekends retreat to Neville.  I tried to be a bit more organised this year, so decided I'd make up a few kits & printed off a few sketches :-)

This first one is using a fairly old Pagemaps sketch, that I have scrapped previously...except this time I don't think it looks too much like the original sketch...lol

Pics are from our Broken Hill road trip....on the way home we passed through Hay & stopped off at the Shear Outback museum - very interesting place!  I have included the little pair of shears that was our entry ticket into the museum....aren't they cute!

Next one is based on an old Colour Room sketch....again, it didn't turn out looking too much like the sketch :/

The old BHP mine in Broken Hill...which has left such a dramatic scar on the surrounding landscape, yet to me it also has such a rugged beauty :-)

This one is for the August sketch at Anna's Craft Cupboard.....

Pic is of DD on our Norfolk Island holiday a few years ago....looking like she wants to spread her wings & take on the world :-)

And the last one that I'm going to share today....is one of the Stuck?! bonus sketches for August.

Pic from our girly weekend in Sydney last year.  I love how this came together using just a few strips of scrap papers....love it <3

Speaking of Stuck?! sketches.....August was my  last month as part of the creative team there as  I decided that I wasn't going to reapply for a spot on the team.  Huge congrats to all the new & returning CT members of this wonderful sketch site.  Thanks Sara for the opportunity & all your work that you put into Stuck?! sketches :-)

August was also my last month as a DT member at Red Earth Scrapping....I decided a few months ago that I was going to step down from my position, but as we were in the middle of our Road Trip competition, I completed my commitments for the competition and my resignation was announced at the end of the comp.  I'd once again like to thank Helen for the opportunity of being on the team :-)

Well, I think I've probably bored you all enough....so I will leave the rest of my retreat layouts for now & will post again in a couple of days.  I'm going to head outside & enjoy a bit of the gorgeous sunshine.

Thanks for dropping by :-)
