Sketchabilities

I stumbled across Sketch # 57 over at Sketchabilities the other day & loved it....so of course, I just had to scrap it!

Here is the sketch

And here is my layout....

Using some newish Echo Park - Victoria Gardens & old Kaisercraft & Pink Paislee papers...with a few handmade goodies from A Lil Somethin, Lovelybug Bits n Bobs & Charms Creations & a super duper old die cut from MME.

I am without my computer atm, and having to use DS' old computer (when he's not on it)...and it is taking me forever to do anything as I'm just so use to my own comp!  Hopefully I'll have mine back soon....off to get fixed under waranty - just hope they don't take too long!

Thanks for dropping by...have a great week :-)  xx

15th Oct Stuck sketch...

Home alone on a Saturday....washing done, cleaning done...even a bit of baking done, so what's a girl to do next?.....why, scap of course!  lol

Here is the sketch....

And here is my layout...

I'm not sure if I'm completely happy with it....not sure exactly what it is?  maybe it's the misting?  or the colours?  I was almost at the point of binning it, then I added a bit more misting, and I then I thought it was ok...but only just ok  lol.  Pics are of our family paint war a few years ago on a little getaway at Jindabyne...which was a lot of fun!  (used lots of Lil Somethin's on this one)

More Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue....for Scrap the Girls

Using my Oct DT kit at Handmade by Suzanne.

This months Scrap the Girls challenge is to use the word "Love" in your title & to distress on your layout.
This is what I have created using the remainder of  my gorgeous Vintage Vogue kit.....

Products used: Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue  Corner Boutique, Taffeta, Eau De Parfume, Tailored Suit & Dress shop that I have used the Martha Stewart frond punch to punch some leaves....and again, lots of die cuts from the Ephemera pack. I also used my new Sizzix Tim Holtz Paper Rosettes die to create the black flower, using Eau De Parfume & Tailored suit PP's, I've also used my new "My Favorite Things" rolled rose die to make the pink felt flower in my cluster.....there's also some gorgeous ribbons & Kaisercraft wooden padlock, AC thickers  & I've used the Crafters Workshop Cubist 12x12 template to mist my background ...with a few bits & pieces added from my stash.

And last but not least....a card I have created using the same range -

Thanks for dropping by & TFL.  xx

15th Oct SUYS

I've had a free afternoon so I decided to scrap - rather than do the dreaded BAS...lol  :-/

The 2nd challenge over at Show us your stuff is to use misting, circles & flowers...as well as the usual criteria of handmade embellishments.

And this is what I've created.....

I have misted on my background paper, the doiley, plus on the muslin that I had fun with!!!  My circles are the misted paper doiley, round prima flower, a few buttons & 1/2 a crochet doiley at the top, which is also misted.  I think I am going to like using muslin on future layouts....just love it! (a huge thanks to the girls on FB with their advice on adhering it).  Pic is a rare one of  DD & DS actually posing for a photo...together!...and even with their arms around each other!  shock horror!!!  lol

Here are a few close ups as it is a bit hard to see the muslin in the pic above....

My handmade embellishments are a Lil Somethin pink button & the handmade organza flower with the pin that I received in a handmade swap a few months ago at RES.

I am really loving the challenges at SUYS....if you'd like to check out their blog & get some inspiration from the DT, go HERE

Lil Red Rocket...

are having a sketch comp to celebrate their 2nd Birthday, with some fabulous Lil Red Rocket goodies up for grabs......you can see the details & DT inspiration HERE

Here is the sketch....

And here is my take on it....

I have used lots of papers from a few different My Minds Eye ranges, some Tim Holtz film strip ribbon, A Lil Somethin flower & Butterfly, a Lovelybug Bits n Bobs button, a few 7 Gypsies stickers, AC Thickers, OA alpha stickers, Kaiser pearls, Martha Stewart frond punch, Tim Holtz journaling ticket, JB tickets, Prima pebble, Shabby Chic journaling spot, Jillibean Soup journal spot, Handmade chipboard button & misted doiley.

You don't need to use Lil Red Rocket products on your sketch....which is a good thing, because I don't have any :((( - but I'm hoping to change that after their sale next week....that you can check out HERE

Pics are at Beechworth Honey - one of the many spots we visited while away last week.

Oct Scrap the Boys

It's been a LONG time since I've participated at STB...so I thought I'd give this months challenge a go!
To use a handmade embellishment on your page - I love using handmade embellisments, so this one was an easy one :-)

My handmade embellishment is the handmade chipboard button <3
This is another layout using my Oct DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne - Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue, which really is a feminine range (shhhhh don't tell DS....lol).  I haven't used any papers on this page, only diecuts from the Vintage Vogue Ephemera pack - which I love!!!.  I've added a few pieces from my stash, including the Dusty Attick music strip - love this too!  Pic is of DS playing with his band at their first live gig in Canberra.  I'm really happy with how this LO turned out....and am really enjoying scrapping with the Vintage Vogue range!

October KIU

This  months KIU challenge was a choice between Monochromatic, Minimalist & Vintage/Romantic/Shabby Chic....on kraft.  I ended up going with minimalist....

Using my Oct DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne - Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue range of papers & diecuts.
I had a bit of a play with some paint flicking & splatters on my kraft background - it was fun standing in the backyard flicking paint everywhere!  lol.  I've also added a few pieces from my stash, including a Charms Creations lollipop flower.  Pic is of me & my 2 lil darlings many years ago!

SBT50 Cyber Crop

This months Scrapbooking Top 50 cyber crop is a sketch themed CC, and it all started off last night on the SBT50 forum....and lucky ol me is guest designer :)

For my sketch, I chose a Pagemaps sketch....and my challenge is to add some doodling to your layout.

Here is the sketch...

And here is my sample layout....

I have flipped the sketch on it's side....and I have doodled around the outside edge of my layout, plus doodled some stitching around each piece of patterned paper....and I've also used a CW template to doodle some branches & leaves across my page.

You can check out all the other sketches & challenges HERE on the SBT50 forum.

And here is my take on it...

Using lots of old goodies from my stash (with a few newish ones tossed in too).  Pics are of us waiting for our Limo ride in Sydney last year (hope you're all not getting sick of seeing layouts on our well known limo trip...lol).  I managed to get this one scrapped while we were away for a week down in NE Victoria....with limited space, limited amount of stash & limited time....but I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out.

If you'd like to give this months sketch a go....you have until the end of the month to upload to the Handmade By Suzanne gallery HERE

I have some happy scrappy news to share!

I have been keeping some exciting news under my belt for about a month....but yay, I can finally share! :)

I am now the newest member on the Handmade by Suzanne design team!  OMG - talk about excited!!!
This has been a dream of mine since since I first applied for the original DT callout when Handmade by Suzanne first opened.  Did I mention that I'm excited?!?!  lol.

Suzanne has the most amzing online store - she stocks just about everything! & if there's something she doesn't have, she'll do her best to get it in for you.  I am totally amazed at how much her store has grown....and is continuing to grow....

A huge thank you to Suzanne for having me on her DT & having the faith in my work :)

Ok, so on with some shares....

Suzanne sent me the gorgeous Pink Paislee - Vintage Vogue range of papers & diecuts....along with some gorgeous ribbons (yes she stocks those too!  and we all know how much I love ribbons, so yay for me...lol), Kaisercraft wooden shapes & some super funky American Crafts - Hello Lizzy thickers!

And this is what I have created so far....

My first LO - "Enjoying the ride"...I've used some Coredinations for my base & Pink Paislee Vintage Vogue - Dress shop & Beauty Parlour papers...plus a heap of die cut shapes from the Pink Paislee VV Ephemera pack - these are just fantastic!!  I love the size of the die cuts in this pack, nothing is too big IYKWIM? ... these are all just perfect sizes - love them!  I've also used a few strips of ribbon & the gorgeous Kaisercraft wooden padlock that I've painted....plus a variety of bits from my stash.

and next....

My 2nd LO "2011" using PP VV - Tailored Suit as my base and then some Taffeta, Eau De Parfume & the reverse side of Tailored Suit papers, along with more die cuts, Kaisercraft padlock, ribbons...and a few bits n bobs from my stash.

That's all I have created for now....but hopefully I'll be back soon to share more from this gorgeous range!

We are heading away for a weeks break tomorrow, and I'm going to take a bit of scrapping gear with me, so fingers crossed that I find some time to scrap!

Thanks so much for dropping by & thanks also for all the wonderful comments everyone has been leaving - they're greatly appreciated & really make my day!   xxx
