7 Dots Studio "Thoughts Keeper" for All About Scrapbooks

Hello there again & welcome :)

Today I have another layout to share for All About Scrapbooks,
Again using the gorgeous Thoughts Keeper collection from 7 Dots Studio, which seems to have practically sold out!....I can understand why!!!
The colours & subtle patterns in this collection are just DIVINE....and they
are such a joy to work with <3

"Enduring Love"

As always....all the details on products, techniques etc, are already over on the AAS blog, so please pop over there if you are interested in those things :)

This is another family photo that I've recently been given....the same Great Aunt & Uncle who were the first in the family to come to Australia.  This is a photo on their wedding day in 1929....I will be adding LOTS of journaling on the back of this one.  Their story is beautiful & amazing & HAS to be told.  I am extremely grateful to my Dad & Aunt's who have passed their story on to me...along with a whole heap of other family stories as well.

This is the basics of what my journaling will include....

Uncle Jack was the first to come to Australia in 1924 when he was just 20 years old.  My first thought is to think of his mother & how she felt about that!  I know I would struggle to cope if my son went off to the other side of the world at any age, let alone at just 20!  He was already courting my Aunt Martha at the time, and she had wanted to come with him, but her parents (my Great Grandparents) would not let her come....which I don't blame them!  She was only 19 at the time.  I'm sure she must have been heartbroken, and Uncle Jack too.  Aunt Martha let her parents know that as soon as she was 21, she was going anyway....which I'm sure they must have struggled with and dreaded the idea.  However, a year or so later, they finally relented & signed the papers to allow her to come...it was  probably close to another year after them signing the papers that she was finally leaving....a week short of her 21st birthday in January 1926.  She traveled all the way here on her own.  I really can't imagine what her last days back home in Ireland would have been like...knowing that she may never see her parents & siblings again?  Yet she would have been excited to finally be reunited with her love, Uncle Jack.  They both lived here for the rest of their lives, only making one trip (that I know of) back to Ireland in 1956....and sadly, they never did get to see their parents again, as their trip back was well after both their parents had died quite a few years  earlier  :(((  the thought of that makes me so sad....

So on that note....here's a few close ups

Some gorgeous Petaloo & Green Tara blooms <3

Lots of 2Crafty chipboard on this page!!

More blooms

and 2Crafty

And some more....there simply is no better chipboard in my eyes!! :)

The heart frame is 2Crafty as well :)))

Thank you so much for dropping by today, and once again my apologies for not getting around to your own blogs to repay the love - I simply feel awful about this....but I am struggling to keep up with my commitments, so I just don't have the time at the moment, but once my commitments are up, I plan to get right back into visiting everyone's blogs! :)

All the details on products and techniques used can be seen over on the AAS blog HERE

Enjoy your weekend everyone! xx

Kaisercraft DT - Furry Friends

Hi again everyone :)

This week Kaisercraft is focusing on another new range for this month - "Furry Friends"
It is such a CUTE collection....and is perfect for scrapping all those gorgeous pet photos!

Here is a looksie at what I've created with this collection...

"Mr Oscar"

I've used a variety of papers cut into different sized squares & rectangles...then I just played around with their positioning until I was happy with the look.

I have added some stamping on the background using both stamp sets that come with this collection - Dogs, which is cute little paw prints.... & Cats, which is a heap of cat/pet related words & meanings.

Here I've created a small cluster of blooms, Collectables & Sticker pieces, as well as some die cut leaves using the gorgeous new  Kaisercraft "Berry Vine" die.  This is one of my new fav's :)

Some of the paper layers....and you can also see a bit of the background stamping.

Mr Oscar title is Kaisercraft alpha stickers - I really love the size of these alpha's...
not too big & not too small!

I've used a few of the cut off strips, stickers & collectables pieces added to the top of the page.

And here's a close up of the main area of the page.
Pic is a selfie of Mr Oscar & myself <3

Furry Friends – Best Friend P1781,  Fur-Baby P1782,  Loyal P1787,  Pet P1783,  Four Legged P1785,  Companion P1780,  Dog Sticker Sheet SS277,  Dog Clear Stamp Set CS210,  Cat Clear Stamp Set CS209,  Berry Vine Decorative Die DD522,  Natural Alpha Stickers AS254,  Honey Paper Blooms F628,  Terracotta Paper Blooms F635,  Honey Mini Paper Blooms F645,  Foam Tape T303
Other – Distress & Archival Ink

Next up is a canvas....

"Mr Bruno"

Hahaha....don't ya just love how we add the "Mr" in front of this pair's names?!?
They are like 2 old men who are the best of mates....

I've added some fabulous texture to the background of the canvas using Kaisercraft Triangles template & some modelling paste....then coloured it with some mists & finished it off with some dabbing of more mists & some random stamping using Kaisercraft Triangles stamp.

I've used some of the stickers & collectables pieces to embellish the canvas...and the title is KC alpha stickers that I have made a darker brown using Faber-Castell Big Brush Pen in brown.

I've used a variety of papers to layer in under the photo & also added some wood veneer arrows.

Here's a close up view of the textured background.

The chevron pieces across the canvas are from both sticker sheets - cat & dog.

Furry Friends – Pet P1783,  Loyal P1787,  Four-Legged P1785,  Dog Sticker Sheet SS277,  Cat Sticker Sheet SS276,  Triangles Template T615,  Triangles Texture Stamp CS150,  Natural Alpha Stickers AS254

7 Dots Studio "Destination Unknown" for All About Scrapbooks

Hi there lovelies....I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend :)

Today I have a layout to share, created for All About Scrapbooks using another
Although this is predominantly a travel themed range, it really is easily adapted to any type of layout.
This one is full of teal's, brown's & grey's...and would really suite masculine layouts too.

I have used an old farming photo & gone for a bit of a vintage look :)

"Sowing new Soil"

All the details of products & techniques are up on the AAS blog, so I won't go repeating it all here.
Pop on over to the BLOG, to check out all the details.

But I will say....I love those 2Crafty Bubble Clumps!!!
They are just fabulous & really helped to finish the page off perfectly!

Here's a few close ups....

Yummy new Petaloo Burlap flowers <3 - these are not only gorgeous, but have such beautiful texture!

And here's a bit of a close up of the fabulous photo....I just LOVE this photo of him.
It is so very "pioneering Australia" ....of which he seems to have taken to like a duck to water!
He looks like a fairdinkum aussie farming cocky - one would not think that he was an Irish man!

There is a LOT of journaling on the back of this layout....no way could I fit it all on the front!
Although I don't know a lot of the details behind this particular photo....besides that he is obviously sowing for a new crop of some sort, most likely wheat..... I have journaled all about this man's (my great uncle) story of coming to Australia, achieving all that he did in this new country, and also about my great aunt who had to wait until she was a bit older before being able to follow him out here.  Their story is really fascinating...and if it wasn't for them coming to Australia, perhaps the rest of the family may not have followed...which also includes my dad, so I may not have been born here either.  Both are my great aunt & uncle - not just by marriage.  My Grandmother's brother married my Grandfather's sister - so in both grandparent's families,  brother & sister married a brother & sister from the other family.  Confused much?? lol

I have lots more photos that belonged to my great aunt & uncle.....they obviously must have loved taking photos, of which I am very grateful for....and feel very privileged  to now have copies of them :)

Ok.... enough ramblings on my family history :)

Thank you so much for dropping by to visit today.
As I mentioned earlier....all the product & technique details are over on the AAS blog HERE
Please pop over for a squiz :)

Until next time....take care xx

Kaisercraft DT - All that Glitters

Hey there & welcome back to my blog :)

I am back to share my Kaisercraft DT work using the utterly gorgeous
"All That Glitters" collection.

This collection is FULL of beautiful colours, soft & bright pinks, minty greens & GOLD - not just gold colour, but in foil & glitter too!!
It is a super pretty collection...with a couple of different specialty papers that are just fabulous!

Ok, so on with some shares...

"Perfect Bridesmaids"

I have used the reverse side of the Radiate paper for my background, topped with both the pink & gold damask sides of the Twinkle paper...and the butterflies?  They are fussy cut from the amazing Golden Butterflies - Speciality Foil paper....the paper is absolutely FULL of them - so you will not run short of butterflies with this one!!

I have used one of the new Kaisercraft Decorative Dies - Berry Vine with the fabulous Gold Glitter - Specialty Glitter paper.  This die is one of my favourites....and I reckon it is going to get a LOT of use - I absolutely LOVE it :)))

Here's a bit of a close up of the fussy cut butterflies from the Golden Butterflies specialty paper....There is a mix of colours & each butterfly has some gold foil - very cool & gorgeous!

There's also a few Collectables pieces here too.

The title is made up of one of the Collectables pieces, and some Kaisercraft Alpha stickers in coral.
Just poking out of the cluster is a circle piece "Our Story" that is stamped using one of the stamps in the All That Glitters stamp set - I have stamped it with embossing ink & gold embossing powder.

And here is an overall view of the main area of the page, with some of the pretty KC blooms
(I was very limited on time & have not added any journaling as yet - it is on my list to add it though)

Next layout....

"Nom Nom"

For this page I've used the Polka Dot Glitter specialty paper....I love how nice & thick these specialty papers are!  They make it perfect for adding any mixed media!  Although I haven't added any modelling paste etc, I did alter the colour of the paper, making it a soft pink
by colouring it with my Gelatos :)

A cute little cluster of paper blooms, diecut pieces from the Collectables pack & ANOTHER new decorative die - Leaves!  This one is a favourite too....I love adding die-cut leaves to my layouts!

More gold foil butterflies....from the Collectables pack & fussy cut from the
Golden Butterflies specialty paper.

I have also used some of the Sparkle Captured Moments cards in amongst my paper layers...with some Collectables pieces in there as well.

More Collectables pieces...

Some strip journaling & KC white alpha stickers for the title

Pic is of little Miss O devouring her cake during her cake smash <3

And one last project....a card

"You are Loved"

I have used one of the gold foil papers from the Paper Pad as the base of the card, then layered it using the Glow & Gloss papers - the Gloss paper (the pink one) I have embossed with the new KC Flourish Embossing folder....then I have given it a bit of a distressed look by rubbing the raised embossed bits with a sanding block.

I topped this with a few Collectables pieces, some KC stamped leaves onto the Gold Glitter specialty paper...and a few blooms & stamped butterfly.

Here you can see the gorgeous embossed flourishes!!  Aren't they gorgeous!
