Mini album - featuring Kaisercraft "Great South Land"

Hi everyone.....I am back again to share a mini album I have created using my March DT kit from Handmade by Suzanne, featuring Kaisercraft "Great South Land"

This range of papers is just perfect for my photos of our recent trip to Tassie.....throw into the mix these Kaisercraft wooden "Postcards"  ....and the idea to create a mini album was born!!! (LOL)

I thought the wooden postcards would be perfect to feature on the front & back covers of my album :)

I didn't have a bought/brand mini album, as such...so I had to create my album from scratch.  Each page is cut from fairly thick sheets of chipboard, that have come with different scrapping orders over the years....and me being me, never throws anything out!
Each page is approximately 21cm x 15cm. I then applied each piece of PP from the Great South Land range, by glueing it to the chipboard sheet....after first machine stitching a border around each piece & distressing & inking the edges.

I have kept each page fairly basic & simple, to try to keep the focus on the photos & journaling.

The cover.....

For this page I've used NSW & VIC PP's
The banner is handcut & made using 2 layers of PP with some foam dots in underneath to give a little bit of dimension...with some cotton lace with some Hemp twine threaded through the holes in the lace.
The little stamps were cut from the cut-off strip at the bottom of one of the Great South Land PP's (I can't remember which one...sorry).  The little cluster is an old Kaisercraft wooden scroll, Prima flowers & a handmade felt flower using My Favourite Things mini rolled roses die.

Page 2.....

Bay of Fires....Using NT as the background, with a Kaisercraft little wooden tree & a few buttons in the bottom left corner.  Title is using Basic Grey, October Afternoon & Fancy Pants alpha stickers.

Page 3.....

Port Arthur.....using WA & SA pp's, plus the little cut-off strip from one of the pieces.  I've embellished with a Kaisercraft wooden "Fob Watch" tied with a little piece of ribbon.  Title is using Basic Grey alpha stickers & AC foam Thickers.

Page 4.....

Richmond.....using QLD pp, a Dusty Attic mini windmill, D'Lish scraps journal spot, Manor House flower & Lovelybug Bits n Bobs fabric button.  Title is AC Thickers.

Page 5.......

Cradle Mountain.....Using VIC pp for the background, with Prima flower, Maya Road CB house, Kaiser pearl, a button, Scenic Route handcut leaf & a Kaisercraft Ribbon Rose that I have altered.  I found that the large ribbon rose was just a wee bit too big for my album page....so to alter it,  I cut the rose out, going around in the spiral as it is sewn on the background mesh, so that I ended up with a long piece of fabric.  I then twisted & rolled the fabric to create the 2 smaller flowers in the cluster at the top left of my page.  Title is Basic Grey alpha stickers & AC foam Thickers.

Page 6.....

Bruny Island.....using WA & NT pp's....with another of the little cut-off strips.  2 punched butterflies....Martha Stewart & EK Success...plus a little Kaisercraft ticket.  Title is OA alpha stickers & AC Thickers.

Page 7.....

South Cape.....Using NSW pp....plus another of the little trees from the Kaisercraft "Forest" pack & a Lovelybug Bits n Bobs button.  Title is Basic Grey alpha stickers &  more AC Thickers.

Back cover.....

Using QLD & VIC pp's, along with another of the little cut-off strips.  Again the cover features one of the Kaisercraft wooden postcards along with Kaisercraft "Journey" word rubon & another Kaisercraft ribbon rose, that I have altered again, but a bit differently.... this time I simply gather stitched around in a cirle at the back of the rose, and then pulled the thread to gather it up & then added a small button to the centre.  This made the rose just a little bit smaller to fit better on the postcard....plus it gave it more height/dimension on the page :).  There's also a few other bits from my stash.... Kaisercraft wooden leaves, Lil' Red Rocket fabric button, D'Lish scraps wooden heart that is at the centre of a handmade felt flower using MFT "Rolled Daisy" die & a Rainbow Splendour little mini pinwheel.

So there you have my little mini album from Tasmania....as I said, each page is fairly basic  simple...but I still love it! <3

Thanks for dropping by & I hope you've enjoyed seeing a part of our adventures in Tasmania :).  xx

Oh Wow, this is a perfect keepsake for your trip. Wonderful photos and just the right touch of details on each page. You have inspired me to do a book for our trip around OZ many moons ago.
