My Minds Eye Blog challenge 30

After delving into my stash for this challenge...I was a little shocked at just how much MME stuff was in there!  Some of it is REALLY old...but nonetheless...it's MME & I love it!

The challenge: Design a layout based on this fabulous sketch and any theme you want on the card (sketch by Anam Stubbington). That’s right – it’s your choice!

The rules: Use ANY My Mind’s Eye products (current or past) as long as your project has at least 80% My Mind’s Eye products.

And here is what I came up with....

I have used a few different My Minds Eye ranges....All papers are MME, from the Stella & Rose, Fine & Dandy and Ooh La La ranges (I told you alot of my MME stash was old!...and I have even older stuff!  lol).  Die cuts are all from Ooh La La...and the alpha's are from the Lush range & I have inked them.  The leaves are punched from MME Ooh La La paper.  I've also added some muslin, Lil Red Rocket satin & organza flower, plus a LRR button...a Lil Somethin flower, a Kaisercraft bloom & October Afternoon alpha stickers.....and some mists.

Pics are from a girls weekend away a couple of weeks ago, views from our hotel room at Cronulla....very noice!

Once upon a sketch....

Handmade by Suzanne is this months sponsor at Once Upon a Sketch....so Nadia had asked the HBS DT to partake in this months challenges :)

The 1st December challenge is to use this sketch, and the following criteria.........

Journalling Criteria/theme: The thing I look most forward to in December.

Write at least 2 sentences on what you look forward to in the next month. December is a festive month so your journalling could be about the Christmas season, the holidays, the presents or if you do not celebrate Christmas what does December bring for you that you look most forward to? Note: Your layout DOES NOT have to be about Christmas! It can be about anything December brings.

Other ideas for journalling: an annual holiday or celebration, a specific event such as putting up the Christmas tree or pre Christmas traditions you might have leading up to Christmas, family time, snow covered fields or warmer weather, time off work, school holidays, change of weather, new season fruit.

Here is my take on this fantastic sketch challenge...

(December:  Not only is it the month we all celebrate Christmas, but for us, it is a month that we also celebrate a few birthdays, family get togethers...and of course it's Harvest time.  So this is what my journalling is about)

You can check out all the challenge details HERE on the Once Upon a Sketch blog, including the rest of the DT's inspiring samples :)

Using paper from the MME Lost & Found two - Blush range as my background (I'm a bit sad that I don't have much of the MME Lost & Found two left!), with strips of scrap PP, ribbon, tape, paper doiley lace etc, etc.  Lots of handmade embellies....Charms Creations lollipop & page runner, Lovelybug Bits n Bobs button & Rainbow Splendour felt mushroom <3 ....with a few gorgeous goodies that I received in a RAK prize from the lovely Felicity Wilson the other day - thanks again Flis!  xx

You have until 31st December to load your entries for the HBS Dec sketch comp into the appropriate folder in the HBS gallery.  There is a $30 store voucher up for grabs that also includes free postage!!!  The winner is determined by random draw...so all you need to do is enter :))  Plus you'll have a heap of fun along the way creating a gorgeous layout from Michelle's fantastic sketch...which makes everyone a winner!  lol

You can view the latest HBS December newsletter HERE to find out all that's happening for the month of December.....including the HBS Birthday sale that is continuing right through December with 20% off!

Well, that's all from me for now....I am about to head out for the day to start on my Christmas shopping....which is a rather late start for me (not sure what happened with that!).
