Addicted...

I just love the challenge over at KIU this month...to use mist techniques on kraft :)

Seeings that I managed to tie a few days off work, in with yesterday's public holiday, to give me a week & half off work (YAY)....I've spent the afternoon scrapping, and first on my list for this months challenges was the KIU challenge.

Here is what I came up with using Basic Grey "Clippings" that I bought as a kit from Paper Stories - I am loving this range!

The background masking didn't quite turn out like I had wanted - It kinda spread too far...lol.
I've had this happen to me a few times....maybe I need to mark out where I'm going to mask before actually doing it or something...any tips???
Then I've randomly misted with a few different mists to try and give it a grungy type effect & to make the gesso masking not look so plain & so white.

In my cluster I've used some 2crafty - chipboard cogs - gesso'd & then simply inked.
And there's also a gorgeous Lil' Red Rocket vintage tag that went so well with the theme of my layout.  Loving those alpha's too - Studio Calico - countryside printed chipboard alpha's <3

And the reason behind the Addicted title....because my DH is totally obsessed with cycling!  He even admits that he is addicted!  To ride over 100km on a Sunday morning is just like a stroll in the park to him...lol.  He even takes his bike on the back of his truck & rides whenever he gets a chance ...especially if there's holdups etc.

Another piece of 2crafty chipboard cog - cut from the same piece in the main cluster.
No point wasting it in behind where it's not going to be seen!

And some more Lil' Red Rocket goodness...some grey & white bakers twine wrapped around the photo matt.

And some stickers from the Clippings sticker sheet.

So, that's all from me for now....who knows when I'll be back to share some more creations.
Hopefully the mojo will stay with me and it won't be too long.

Take care...and thanks for dropping by! xx

Giveaway winners....

Hi everyone....I'm back to announce the winners of my giveaways, but first I want to welcome all 37 new followers to my blog.  I hope you will stick around now that the giveaway is over & hopefully enjoy some of my creations :).

Well, I'm not too good with some of this internet technology, so I didn't know how to use one of those random picker things that I see other people use on their blogs & giveaways (I had enough trouble figuring out the linky tool!!! lol)....so I've done things the old fashioned way - putting names into a hat & drawing them out.

So, out of the 70 people who entered...one of whom I wasn't sure exactly who you are, as you have entered a link to my own blog????  Maybe they  have problems with technology like me!  lol

Anyways...on with the winners -

Winner of the first giveaway (above) is......

Charlotte Hansen from Denmark!!!

Winner of the second giveaway (above)...

Lizzy Hill - Australia!!!

Congratulations ladies...I hope you enjoy your new goodies.
I will be in contact with you both shortly to sort out postage details etc.

Thanks again everyone for participating :) xx

All good things must come to an end....

Hi everyone, hope you have all enjoyed your long weekend...I know I have & can't believe how much you can get done in having that extra day!

Today I'm going to share my last e.v.e.r  creations as a DT member for The Scrapbook Store.
I made the decision about a month ago, after many weeks of pondering ..and it wasn't an easy decision to come to, by any means.....but I have decided to step down from my DT position, effective from the end of September.

It has been a full 12 months that I've been on the DT, and I have loved every single bit of being on such a fantastic team...with such a generous owner, Suzanne...who provides her DT members with the most generous & amazing kits each month.  Even though I have enjoyed my journey with TSS (formerly known as Handmade by Suzanne)....I just felt that it was time to step back from my DT commitments & get back to other things in life that I feel I have been neglecting.  Plus, hubby & I are hoping to start travelling as often as we can...so that was another factor in making my decision.

I'd like to publicly thank Suzanne for the amazing opportunity that she gave me & for having the faith in my work...I have enjoyed my journey with HBS/TSS & it has been a wonderful experience that I will always cherish.  Thank you, Suzanne. xx

I'd also like to thank the rest of the amazing DT for being so supportive & encouraging over the past 12 months...I have appreciated every encouraging comment that each of you made in regards to my work... it's been so much fun working with you all....and I'm truly grateful for the wonderful friendships that we have made.  And also a huge thank you to Marelize....who not only co-ordinated each months happenings, but also kept us all in line...lol (just kidding!).

No, seriously...a huge THANK YOU to you all.  xoxo
I know that I am going to miss working with you all <3

And while we're in speech mode... LOL
I'd like to congratulate the 4 newest members of The Scrapbook Store DT who start their term today.  Kim, Leanne, Sandie & Lindy....I hope that you all have as much fun, & enjoy the ride, as much as I did.  Enjoy your journey ladies!

Ok, so on with the show...

2 cards created using Teresa Collins - Tell your Story

Both cards are made up of leftover pieces from the Diecut Border strips pack...with a few added flowers, & placed onto a bit of teal cardstock....easy peasy (says the person who always struggled with cards...lol)  They were literally made in just a few minutes & are such a great way to use up scraps & leftovers.

I just love the colours in this range <3

And this one I included one of the tickets cut out from the Tickets pp...again with the diecut border strips & a few flowers added.

So there you have it...2 simple cards - my last creations as DT member for TSS.
I don't plan on being a stranger around TSS gallery & their monthly sketch challenges....I plan to pop into the gallery to see what everyone has been up to & to see the gorgeous creations from the DT girls...plus to participate in the monthly sketches as often as I can.

Ok, I think I have babbled on enough for one sitting...lol
Until next time....& thanks so much for dropping by  :) xx

PS.  I will be back in the next day or so to draw/announce winners of my giveaway!
