Kaisercraft DT - Basecoat Christmas

 Hi there everyone :)

This week I will be up on the Kaisercraft blog with 3 of this month's new collections.

The first collection that was featured today, is Basecoat Christmas!

If you're like the rest of the population, and loved all 3 previous Kaisercraft Basecoat collections....this one will be no different!  It is just as fabulous as all the previous Basecoat releases, and I'm sure you will love it as much as the others :)

My first project is a layout....

"I believe in Santa Claus"

I've used the reverse side of the gorgeous "Flora" paper for my background with a touch of mixed media in under my layers of paper strips.  How cool is the red timber decking on this paper?!
I absolutely love it!

I've created a cluster with a few different coloured paper blooms...and pieces from the Collectables pack.  There's also some strips of Kaisercraft lace in amongst the paper strips as well.

The stencil work is using the new release template - Moroccon Lattice & the stamping is a new release stamp - Morocco.  Love them both!

Here you can see the lace a bit better....as well as some punched border strips, border sticker from the sticker sheet, and also some cut off strips from various papers.

More collectables pieces...and a close up shot of the main area of the page....which has some of the Captured Moments 3x4 cards layered in under the photo.
Pic is of my kids some 20 years ago!!  yikes...makes me feel old!

Other: Modelling Paste, Distress ink, Mists, Border Punch, Button, Embroidery thread

Next up is another layout...

"Christmas Eve"

I've kept the background nice & clean with this one....using the Christmas Bells paper - I love the old weathered look & feel to the timbers on this paper <3
And.....Oh how I love the christmas decorations at the top of the page...they look so real & 3D!!

I have, however, added a bit of stencil work on the green piece under the photo...using the new Stars template.

Another cluster of Paper Blooms, stickers & Collectables pieces

I've added a strip of cream lace along the bottom of the papers for some added texture....and some stamping using the Basecoat Christmas clear stamps.  Oh, and there's also some of the new release washi tape in there too....Chevron - Mint <3

I've also used one of the Basecoat Christmas - Captured Moments 3x4 cards at the side of the photo.
Pic is of my DS a few Christmas' ago!  Well, more than a few....more like 6! LOL

And lastly....a quick & simple card

Using a variety of papers from the paper pad, some paper blooms, Collectables, Lace & Rhinestones.

With the centre Collectables piece raised up on some foam tape....fairly quick & simple - which is how I like to create my cards :)

October Afternoon "Public Library" for All About Scrapbooks / Scrap The Girls Sept Challenge

Hi everyone....happy weekend to you all :)

I am back to share another October Afternoon - Public Library layout for All About Scrapbooks!
As I mentioned last week, I planned to try to get some layouts from this collection that were not in any way related to the collection name...Library - books - school - reading etc etc

So here is a fun layout of my DD & a friend at a wedding....taking selfies & being a tad silly :)

My layout is based on the September sketch at Scrap The Girls
(Gosh, I haven't played along at STG in like...forever! - Huge thanks to Fiona Johnstone for inspiring me to play along :) )

"Funny Faces"

oh I just love that spotty background paper!  It is actually the reverse side of the same paper that I used for the background on last weeks "Longroom" layout...I just had to have 2 of them! lol
And that is something that I seem to do a LOT - use my fav papers as my background - maybe it's because I can't bear to cut it up?!?!

Here is this months STG sketch...

And a few close ups....

Cluster of Green Tara & Petaloo flowers....with a gorgeous 2Crafty flourish swirl <3

Love the cute little 2Crafty Doily!

October Afternoon "Public Library" for All About Scrapbooks / Scrap Around the World Sept Mood Board

Hi everyone....gosh I've been a little bit quiet here on my blog lately, but be assured I have been a busy little bee scrapping behind the scenes, and will be sharing those creations over the coming weeks :)

Today I have a layout to share that I've created for All About Scrapbooks, using
October Afternoon's "Public Library" collection, and is based on the Scrap Around The World September mood board.  It's been a while since I played along at SATW, and I must say that I did enjoy scrapping with their fabulous mood board this month :)

My first layout using this range is, as the collection name suggests, library themed....and is of the great library at Trinity College in Dublin known as.....

"The Longroom"

I am really LOVING creating with this collection <3  and especially love all the brown tones in this page....and to help break it all up a bit, I've used some tiny bits of red & mustard from different papers & the Tidbits pack of diecuts.   I will be showing over the coming weeks that this collection is really quite versatile & easily scrapped for other themed layouts :)

The image of the books is what inspired me to scrap this photo of the Longroom in Trinity Library - there are soooo many old books in just this one room, that it is totally mind blowing, and so worth going to see!  I was also inspired by the little cogs inside the heart, and have included a 2Crafty cog/gear in my cluster plus one of the brads I've used has a cog shaped pattern on it.

Here are a few close ups....

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my layout as much as I have enjoyed creating it.

Echo Park 'Capture Life' - for All About Scrapbooks

Hi Everyone & welcome....I hope you're all having a fabulous day!

Today I'm back to share one last layout for my August DT work for
All About Scrapbooks - using Echo Park's "Capture Life" collection.

This one is a bit multi-coloured, which suits the photos well.

"Let's Rumble"

I LOVE that arrow paper I've used for my background! And also love how all these colours go together so well :D

Pics are of my Great Neice & Nephew rumbling around on the ground at a recent family party :)

Here's a few close ups....
