My last projects as guest designer for The Scrapbook Store

Hi there peeps.... welcome :)

As busy (and sick) as I have been, I've managed 2 more cards using FabScraps Wild at Heart range from The Scrapbook Store.

These 2 are very different from my last 3 masculine cards....they're much more prettier!

Using leftover pieces of Surfing Wild 1 & 2 papers
along with a few bits n bobs from my stash...including some punched hearts & diecut doily

A close up of my little cluster

The same papers were used for this one....and again, a few flowers,
leaves & diecut from my stash.

Okie doke....that finishes me up for my guest designing this month.
Thanks so much to Suzanne for having me...it's been fun :))))

Well, I'm almost there....just a few days to go and I'm off on my o/s trip :)))
So, things will be a little quiet here on my blog over the next few weeks until I return.
And then when I'm back....hopefully I'll be all inspired to scrap with lots of new pics!

Until then....take care & happy scrapping!  xx

3 more cards as Sept Guest Designer for The Scrapbook Store

Hi everyone,

Things have been a little hectic around here of late - just over a week to go before I'm heading off on my big trip!!!  So I've been busy organising all those last minute things, plus I've been sick, which has slowed me up a bit!!  grrrrr.  I have managed a little bit of scrapping though, in the form of some cards.

So here's a little of what I've been up to using FabScraps "Wild at Heart" for The Scrapbook Store..

This card will be for my dads next birthday....he'll be turning the big 80!!!
Using the Wild Ride papers, with some mesh tape & one of the Finnabair Mechanical cogs.

I pulled out my old Spellbinders Nestabilities dies and have covered one using mesh tape, before adding the metal cog on top

Plus we're having a 21st next year as well....it's a big year for major milestones in our family next year....we also have a 25th as well.  This one will be for my sons 21st.
Using a mix of Wild Ride & Skating Wild papers & the FabScraps chipboard guitar.

Again, I've covered the guitar using the Tim Holtz Distress Glitter (Pumice Stone), and I've also added a few canvas resist cogs from my stash.

This one was a fairly simple card....by adding one of the pockets & tags from the die cut set...too easy!

And the final card in this set....again using the Wild Ride papers.

I simply cut the bike dude from the Die Cut set & stuck him down on a few layers of PP & kraft CS with some foam dots...and wrapped some twine around the CS, and that was it.
Not sure who/what this one will be for, so I've left it without a sentiment at this stage.

ok, so that's it from me for now.
I have a few more cards in mind, so I'll be back some time soon with those.

My apologies for not doing much visiting to everyone's blogs of late.
It may be a while before I get back into the swing of things...probably when I'm back from o/s and hopefully not soo busy!.....and sick :-/

Thanks so much for dropping by....xx

Scrap Africa - Guest Designer - Challenge # 21

Hello there scrappers, a big welcome to my blog today.

Challenge # is now live over on the Scrap Africa blog......and the challenge is to use Washi tape & twine....easy peasy, eh....and fun!!

So here is my take on the challenge...

Using some more of those fairly old Echo Park papers - Victoria Gardens.
And the pic is of a lone single sunflower that suddenly just popped up in my garden!!
I'm not sure how I never noticed it until it was this tall, its all a bit bizzarre, almost as if it just madly grew overnight!!

Here you can see where I've used some twine - wrapped around one of the photos, and as a small clump at the bottom of my cluster

My Washi tape is the blue checked pieces that are in a few different spots over the layout.  I first stuck the washi to some scrap cardstock so that it was more visual & didn't blend into the patterned papers that are below it.  There's also a 2nd washi tape at the bottom area of layered PP's.

Here is my small cluster of flowers, button, small crochet doilie, Prima ticket & a 2Crafty square flourish.

More blue washi tape at the top of the page, with another strip of grey striped washi in under the patterned triangles.

My title...and standing tall, it sure did!

And here is a close up overall view of the main areas of the layout.

I have a small amount of strip journaling on the front of the layout, but the main journaling about this lone tall sunflower is on the back .

Thanks so much for visiting today....if you'd like to check out the awesome inspiration from the Scrap Africa DT, or would like to enter this fabo challenge, then pop on over to their blog HERE

Until next time.....take care & happy scrapping! xx

3rd layout using FabScraps as GD for The Scrapbook Store - Scrap Africa sketch # 21

Hi everyone, I'm back to share my 3rd layout as guest designer for The Scrapbook Store - using FabScraps "Wild at heart" range.

I've gone for a real grungy feel for this layout, and have based it on this months sketch over at Scrap Africa, sketch challenge #21....

I have added a bit of template work on the background to help break up the dark brown, plus sprayed a few random squirts of white Dylusions ink spray as well.  Pic is of my DS a few years ago, when he was first hooked on motocross....alls he did was, as the title suggests, Eat - Sleep - Ride

Here is the sketch...

And as you can see, I've stuck fairly well to the sketch, just reducing the size of the angled pieces at the top & bottom...plus I added some layers in under the photos.

Here is my cluster of cogs....The FabScraps chipboard cogs I have left one raw and covered the other with Distress Glitter, which I have then cut in half & used in separate places on the page.  Both pieces are from the Cog border piece, and I have cut the cogs out from the centre, rather than using it as a full piece - I'm never too scared to cut my chipboard pieces!  The Metal cogs are Prima Finnabair Mechanicals.   I've also added in some messy strands of cotton to add a little more interest & texture to the page.

Here you can see some more cotton strands, plus a bit of the template work.

Journalling on the diecut tag that slips in under one of the layers.

Here you can see the template work a bit better.  I've used Crafters Workshop - Stacked Triangles with modelling paste & then I've heat embossed on top, which has given a really unusual texture
(it's a bit hard to see it in the photos though)

And here is an overall close up.

Although I have a super busy few weeks ahead before going away, I still have a few more projects planned using this range - so I will be back shortly to share them....then I'm afraid my lil ol blog is going to be quiet for quite a few weeks.

Anyways....thanks so much for visiting today :) xx
