Paperstories June sketch

Hello again fellow bloggers...how is everyone this Sunday morning?  I hope you are all well :)

I have another layout to share....for the June sketch at Paper Stories (created by the very talented Emma Stafrace), which was a lot of fun to work with.  I loved the design of this sketch as soon as I seen it :)

This is how my layout turned out, using papers from the Kaisercraft 75 cents collection and a mix of embellishments.....including some 2crafty chipboard

My background didn't quite work out how I had envisioned it would (nothing new there...lol)...but I'm still quite happy with the result.  Photos are from earlier this year on our return from our Great Ocean Road trip.  We stopped off for a break in the middle of nowhere, where the road squeezed between these 2 really unsual lakes, Lake Carangamite & Lake Gnarput, in the lakes & craters region of the Victorian Volcanic Plains - the water in them looked white (and I'm guessing that was because of high salt levels?) & it was very strange looking & really quite eerie!  Plus the area was so so flat, which I thought was unusual seeings it is a crater/volcanic area.

Anyways..... this is the fabo sketch

And now for some closeups.....

A few blooms from Petaloo & Green Tara, a flair button from D'Lish Scraps & a little chipboard bracket from 2crafty...along with some punched leaves.

Another 2crafty piece - one of the arrows from the mixed arrows pack

My title....and here you can see some of the messy background!

Another 2crafty arrow, as well as some handcut chevrons

And lastly, a bit of a close up of the whole layout

Thanks so much for dropping by & leaving any comments :)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend peeps....xx

I really like how you take a strong coloured/patterned bg & STILL make the whole page look uncluttered, unfussy & simply stunning. How do you DO that???!!!! [rhetorical question:):)]....& FYI...since I grew up down the road from here.....the volcano was so large, that actually the area in the 'mounts' which are around 30 miles apart or more apart, are actually one big blow....so there's a lot of 'flat space' simply cos of the size of the volcano!!! That doesn't make a lot of sense....I tried!!!!

Fantastic layout Linda. The photos make me yearn for the years when our boys were small and we went on regular caravan roud trips. I love your background work.
