SBM Master's entry - Part 4

Hi there everyone & welcome :)

I'm finally back to share my last layout as part of my entry for last years Scrapbooking Memories Master's competition.  The 4th criteria was to create a layout with a unique background.

This one was my least favourite out of the 4 entries that I created, and was the one that I thought may let me down in my entry.  But ironically, it is the one that received an Honourable Mention!!!  LOL...go figure!  Just goes to show you never know what other people see in your work, and I guess we are sometimes our own worst critic!

So anyways...on with my layout :)

I've used lots of mixed media products for my background...and I guess it is quite unique, as I don't think I could replicate it if I tried! lol.  There's muslin, gyprocker's mesh tape, texture paste, gesso, mists, stamping & gelato's and I've used a CW template, Kaisercraft stamp & the end of a cardboard roll to create my background using the products just mentioned :)

A close up of my cluster

Lots of texture added to my 2Crafty chipboard & finished off by painting in glimmermist.

Title & close up of some of the background work

The papers I used are a mixture of fairly old Basic Grey collections - I couldn't tell you exactly which ones though, but they are all BG.

and my journaling about my coffee addicted husband....lol

So that is the end of my Master's entries for 2013.
I guess this years comp will be here before we know it....are you going to apply this year?!?

Thanks so much for taking the time to read through my post :)
Enjoy your weekend everyone....xx

Yup! You never know what others see in our work, for certain..same thing happened to me recently with a challenge.....I actually really like this one, too - the way you've 'worked' the edges of the LO....looks great & the colours are fabulous. You do 'earthy' beautifully!!!

I liked this one in the magazine. The light pink dots in the background were unexpected but work so well.

I love this Linda!! The gorgeous earthy tones, the wonderful texture in the background, it all works beautifully together!! We don't always see the beauty in our own work but believe me this page is awesome!!
Love it!! ox

Totally see why you got an honourable mention with this one Linda, I love the amount of technique on the background and the colours work so well with the photos.

Brilliant. I see what they saw in this one. Everything is so co-hesive & so many yummy textural pieces mirroring those photos... Congrats.
