Sunday drive....

Today I went for another drive in the car, out to a little village called Murringo....and funnily enough, after researching our family history a few years ago...it turns out that a branch of my DH's family settled in Murringo back in the 1800's....I just find that so amazing!...the fact that we aren't originally from this area, have only lived here for 15 years...and to find that a few branches of DH's family settled out in the country area that we are now living in....I think that's just mind boggling!

Anyways....I took my camera again today, and took some pics of some lovely old houses, an old inn....and another quaint little stone church.....but I am soooooo annoyed!!!...and I don't know how I did it....but I didn't have a memory card in the camera!!! GGGRRRRRRRRR. I didn't have my glasses with me either....so I was happily snapping away...pic after pic after pic....and unable to see when I turned the camera on...that it was telling me that there was no card!!! Oh well....it looks like I will have to take another little trip out to Murringo some time soon! LOL....and this time I'll make sure I have some extra time to visit the cemetary there....because some of DH's relatives are buried there....plus I'll also make sure the camera has it's card!!!

Here is the LO that I mentioned in my previous post....it's for my BOM that I am following with Jane over at Scrapbook n Bits. The pic is from 2003 when we went for a holiday to Echuca...it was so much fun to get dressed up in all the old clothes and get our photo taken. I think both Dave & especially Joel, really look the part!

Busy, busy, busy.....

I am finally near the end of my 8 or so weeks of working full time...and I've survived all those big medical scarey words! lol....just one week to go and then I get to have my week off....wow, I can't wait! I'm hoping then that things will get back to normal, where I work 1 week, then have 1 week off......BUT, the boss asked the other day for me to give her any dates over the next 2 months that I can't work...I think that means that she may be needing me to work some extra days!....oh well, the extra money sure will come in handy!

Today I finally got to do some scrapping! My second layout in about 6 weeks....that is just so unusual for me. I'm normally at least 1, but usually 2 or 3 LO's per week. Today I did a LO for my BOM - following Jane's journey over at Scrapbook n Bits. I haven't gotten a photo of it yet, so I'm unable to post it as yet...but I will add it as soon as I get a pic tomorrow. For now I'll leave you with my other LO that I mentioned...for the "scrap your stash" challenge over at Scrapbook n Bits.....

My scallywag of a best friend....OSCAR!

This afternoon we went for a drive out near Wyangala Dam and then through Frogmore & on to Boorowa. We spotted this gorgeous little old church at Hovells Creek....so we just had to stop and have a little looksy & take a few pics.....

On closer inspection (peering through the windows) we discovered that the intererior of the church is being renovated.....into a house! It looked absolutely gorgeous inside! It had a beautiful timber staircase going up to a second level that has been made up in the steep roof area....it will be just stunning once it is all finished. It seems to be becoming a very popular thing in areas out here, where people are renovating old disused churches into homes....just amazing!

And the reason we went for a drive......to get some more km's up on our NEW CAR! so that it can have it's first 1,000km service, before Dave & Joel go away in the first week of the school holidays.

Yep, we bought ourselves a band spanking new Toyota Rav4.....first brand new car that we've ever had. It is so beautiful to drive...I just love it!

Also adding a few pics from Joel's Amcross a few weeks ago. It was his first ever race and boy was it nerve wrecking! My heart was either in my stomach or up in my throat for the whole day! He is absolutely loving his motocross atm....and we are loving spending the time taking him to the different events, and making it a days outing.

A few pics of him really churning that dirt....

Believe it or not, but the course for this event was on all natural terrain...it wasn't a purpose built track like a Motocross track is. It was just natural farming land where they pegged out the track & slashed the grass so that it wasn't long....but by the end of the day it was just all dirt, even with it's own burms where the corners were quite tight....like it was a man made track. That just really amazed me.
Anyways...that's about all that's been happening in my neck of the woods.
Hope everyone is having a fab weekend....until next time....Toodlepip!

Helicobacterpylori, Adenomatous, pedunculated polyp, recto sigmoid....

Hypercholesterolemia, symbicort, caecum....what's all this you say?

LOL.... well that's exactly what I said! This is what my past week has consisted of....all these medical words that I not only have had to type, but also have had to figure out if that's exactly what the Dr was saying into his dictaphone, and then having to look it up in a medical dictionary, hoping that it's spelt as it sounds, after replaying it over and over a dozen times....it might as well have been in Japanese if you ask me...LOL.

It has certainly been an interesting week....but also pretty scarey. As of next week I will on my own doing this job that I have been training for. Hopefully it will all go well....I just hope I remember everything!

No time for scrapping at all over the past couple of weeks....pretty sad eh!

Anyways....just a quick post tonight. I think it's time to hit the hay....hope everyone has a great long weekend! 'Til next time....Toodlepip!

Where have the last 3 weeks gone?...

Wow, I can't believe it's been 3 weeks since I last posted! Time is just going way too fast.....wish I could slow things down! Things have been moving so fast that I can't even remember what's happened.

Hmmmm.... oh, yeah...
Back on 3rd May, Joel went to his first motorcross school. We had to be at Young at 8am, so we had the car & trailer packed with food, motorbike, tools etc the night before. 2 of Joel's friends were doing the same school, so that was a good thing. Once we were there and the days events started....things started to go pear-shaped! Joel kept having trouble with his bike...it just kept konking out on him! He was getting so upset because he was missing out on stuff that they were teaching. Dave figured it was the spark plug, so he drove into Young and bought a half dozen spark plugs - the same as the one that was already in it. That proved to be a big mistake! They were obviously the wrong spark plugs & poor Joel kept having the same problem all day....but at least he would get a fair bit of a go before the plug would foul up, and we had enough of them to get us through the day. It ends up that the local bike shop that recently re-built his engine had put the wrong spark plug in it!!! Don't ya just hate that!!! GRRRRRRR

Anyway...here are some pics from the day

The days lessons begin....

There were about 30 kids all up doing the school...alot of them were younger kids, with just a handful in Joels group...which was a good number.

Joel coming out of a burm....and he's got that leg out nice and straight, just like the instructor said.

The group listening to the next lesson before going out and putting it into practice....

Joel coming down on a table-top. Oops, I think the front wheel has come down sooner than it should have.

Coming out of another burm...this one was a bit muddy & slippery.

Ok, what else....

5th of May I started in my new job. I really enjoyed my first week, and am confident that I have made the right decision in taking this job. Last week I had the week off....absolutely loved that part of it! (although I did have to work an extra day on Wednesday...but that was ok)

The next few weeks will be pretty full-on for me though. I am being trained in yet another job! starting on 19th May. I will be doing alot of typing of the Dr's letters, referrals etc etc etc that they have dictated on tape, plus dealing with alot of the visiting specialists & the operating theatre at the hospital.

I had a little stint on this job about a week ago, and OMG...all those big long medical words! Very scarey stuff! It might as well have been in Japanese....because I had NO CLUE what any of it was or what it meant! LOL ... but after a weeks training I guess it will get better & it won't sound so scarey...I hope! Apparently I will be filling in on this job from 10th June for 4 or 6 weeks....so basically, I'm going to be working full time for the next 6 or 8 weeks!

Mothers Day...didn't do much at all, which was good. Most years we always go out somewhere...but this year we did nothing! I actually spent a fair part of the day scrapping....gotta love that! :)

Hmmm, can't think of what else has been happening in these parts....just the same ol'.

I am hoping that I'll get some time to post my latest LO's over the next few days....so, till then, TOODLEPIP! :)
